Stereotyping of Bend It Like Beckham and Billy Elliot
Media
In this essay I will discuss about the stereotyping of Bend it like
Beckham and Billy Elliot and the different cultures. In Bend it like
Beckham the mum of the main character doesn't want her to play
football because she is a girl and it isn't honourable for the family.
She won't let her play football because of this but Jess plays
football behind her back. In Billy Elliot, the boy starts to dance and
the dad is against boys dancing and says they should be out boxing or
playing football. This film was set during the miner strike.
In Billy Elliot, there was a lot of stereotyping, mainly towards Billy
being a dancer. Billy has an older brother and a dad who works in the
mines but is out on strike in the film. His mum died when he was
little. Billy became a dancer when he was in the boxing and had to
stay behind because he wasn't hitting the bag properly. He then saw
the Girls all dancing and the teacher asked him to join. She asked him
if he was scared and wasn't bothered about the fact that he was a boy,
and didn't think dancing was only for girls. When she corrects Billy
for not doing something right, she doesn't look bothered that there is
a boy learning to dance. She asks Billy if he's scared to come back
again to Dance next week. This is questioning Billy's Characteristic
to see if he isn't bothered about the other boys stereotyping him
being a dancer when only girls are "supposed" to dance. When his dad
finds out about him dancing. He starts having ago at him telling him
that Boys are supposed to be boxing or playing football, which is
wrong because there are some...

a little bit of music in the background introduce slowly making it
more emotional. When they are at the airport and happy we hear Loud,
upbeat and happy music. The contrast between the two mums is that they
both don't want their daughters to play football for different
reasons, but in the end of the day lived with it and had to deal with
it. The difference is that Billy didn't have anybody to help him
through it except his teacher but really had to deal with it himself,
unlike jess that had Jules and her friend at the park and Joe.
Although Bend it like Beckham had more types of stereotyping and
contrasts bits in the films and used the music well. Billy had to
fight against his dad and had to fight against them thinking he was
gay when Jess had to fight against her religion.
No matter what obstacle or challenges we faced, we still managed to find solutions to our problems and kept being optimistic. Going through a rough childhood it is easy to harbor hate and bitterness but being able to look logically at a situation and motivate it to change you that is strength that Jeannette and I
However, New York Public Schools offered ballroom dancing classes to low-income students of color, which allowed the arts to be included in their curriculum. Watching the film, I observed the positive reaction the children had to the dance classes. Overall, they were exposed to different cultures, made new friendships, became more confident, and aware of different career options such as professional dancers or singers (Agrelo, 2005).

wardrobe, band members wear is a little different from what is trending in the modern society. Ripped skinny jeans or shoes, hoodies in the dark shaded colors are common type of clothing members wear. Additionally, many seem to understand that band individuals have poor hygiene due to how many men have long hair and not a clean cut shave. As said before, many of the stereotypes are not fully wrong. According to Makewav.es, in the article Misconceptions About Rock Music, by Maddie Smith and Talia Alvarez, who both stated, “Will not try to defend the fact that some artists in the industry, like Danny Worsnop and Ronnie Radke, are recovering addicts.” The authors explain that some truth behind what is said about alcohol or drug consumers on band members is true. It has been indicated that not just the act of a small groups has produced a negative image on people who play

I chose to write about my opinions on how masculine stereotypes were created through adjectives, derogatory terms and comparisons in song lyrics in an opinion column format. In opinion columns, personal pronouns can be used which can convey more radical opinions of a chosen topic. I explained how derogatory terms are incorporated into song lyrics which negatively describe the LGBTQ+ community. As well, through the use of adjectives, many stereotypes of “being attractive” were created which caused many self-conscious males to feel they need to reach those societal standards. Since opinion columns utilize opinions of the writer, many different audiences can be targeted and educated about another opinion other than their own. During the 1970s, many song lyrics incorporated how the ideal male will look like and what “rules” they had to follow.
Betty had a good start to her career. She preformed at country fairs and rodeos. Betty learned that her talent isn’t enough to make her successful, and there was always more work to be done. Betty’s natural talent made it easier for her to learn ballet from her instructor. She hadn’t learned the basics right and she became very frustrated because she had to go back to the beginning and learn those basics.
She has gained the trust of their parents by knowingly doing what is right for their children, while also instilling knowledge and life lessons as she watches over them with love. Another example would be her passion for dance. She has been dancing since she was three years old, and grew up dancing for a local dance company. Staying committed to the company, she never left, but stayed through her entire dance career. Ms. Baker competed in many competitions and won trophies for herself and also her dance company. She knew that if she performed at her best it would represent not only herself, but her family and who taught her. It attracted many young children who wished to dance when they saw that she performed in a graceful manner and was extremely poised. After reaching the age in which she was too old to compete, she returned to the dance facility as an instructor and teaching assistant. She could not break the bond in which she had built with the association. While doing many extracurricular activities, Ms. Baker attend Rockingham Early College High School where she has maintained excellent grades to represent herself not only well rounded, but academically. The rigor of the college level courses did not stop her from pursuing

Everyone has trials and tribulations in life , and everyone has obstacles to overcome. What I have learned and reflected from journey is that, I am a better person because of what I have been through. If you take the easy road through life, you will never become strong minded or dedicated to anything. This is why I chose my education to be my greatest accomplishment, because I can truly say I worked hard for
Aerosmith has defined Rock and Roll for more than thirty years. The members are Steven Tyler(lead singe), Joe Perry(guitarist),Tom Hamilton(bassist guitar), Brad Whitford(guitarist), and Joey Kramer(drummer). Steven Tyler spent time in the summers of his youth in New Hampshire lakes region, where he met his band mates. Steven took up drums and singing before becoming the leader of Aerosmith. As the band starts on yet another world tour to support their 25th release, "Honkin' On Bobo", they remain creatively spirited and are the platinum standard for artistic and commercial success in the music business. Aerosmith was like America's feisty reencounter to hard-rocking groups like The Wind, The Who, Rolling Stones, The Yard Birds, Cream, Deep Purple, and Led Zeppelin. Steven Tyler's political view is "leaning toward social conservatism at times". Joe Perry's political view is "I'm a definite old school Republican".
Everyone has difficult obstacles in their lives. I have had a few myself and they each have changed me for the better. My most profound experience was being repeatedly molested as a child. I wasn't aware of exactly what was happening to me. I didn't know being touched was wrong. I just knew how disgusting it made me feel, but I didn't tell anyone at the time. I shared this publicly as an adult to help other parents realize that children need to be protected. It was a long journey to reach to the point where I could speak about my experiences with anyone. These experiences from my childhood affected me deeply; however, I have overcome them, learned from them and I have contributed at a higher level because of them.
