...e opening of the flamingo casino, set for the day after Christmas. Meyer figured that if the opening was a success, then Bugsy could pay back the stolen money. Christmas came and went, and as Bugsy had promised, he opened the flamingos' casino for business. Opening night was a disaster at the flamingo so Bugsy was ordered to meet some guys at his mansion in Hollywood. Bugsy returned home on one condition, that nothing would be done to Virginia Hill. Bugsy flew home that same night after the flamingo had opened on Christmas day. Bugsy was at his Hollywood mansion when two hit men gunned him down from out side of his house. Nine bullets were shot into bugsys' house. Two .30 bullets caught Bugsy in the face. His left eye was later found sticking to the ceiling of his living room. Only two people attended bugsys' funeral: bugsys' brother and a rabbi.
