In deciding on a subject for this paper I considered many options. What I was looking for was, not only, someone who I admire, but also someone with a very strong and interesting personality. My choice, therefore, became Madonna. Why? I chose Madonna because she is a strong, hard-working and ambitious woman. She has also caused a lot of controversy with many of her choices over the years of her career and this makes for an interesting mix of personality traits to analyze.
Many of the things I admire in Madonna are things that I strive to be and do myself. As mentioned above, Madonna is strong, hard-working and ambitious. She is also very driven and focused on accomplishing all that she can. She has never apologized for being herself and expressing her opinions. She believes in having no regrets. Instead of regretting her mistakes, she learns from them an moves on. Perhaps the thing that I admire most about her is the fact that she has managed to have and do it all. That is, she has had a very successful professional career and a very full personal life as well. She manages to hold it together as a mother and wife even with the high demands of her successful career and business.
Madonna was born Madonna Louis Ciccone on August 16th, 1958 in Bay City, Michigan. She is the third and eldest daughter of six children born to Tony and Madonna Ciccone. Her mother died of breast cancer when Madonna was only 5 years old. After her mother died, Madonna's father remarried and Madonna had a difficult time adjusting to the marriage because she was used to receiving all of her father's affection and attention. In conclusion, Madonna is a strong, ambitious, and intense woman who I admire for all those qualities and many more. She shows people that you really can have it all. Her personality can be described by both sensation-seeking (a biological perspective) and motivational theory (an intrapsychic perspective), although maybe best by motivational theory's more comprehensive explanation. However, if you combined both explanations, that may result in an even more appropriate description.

The thing that I specifically admire is the way she copes with the way she was brought up. She was brought up, to learn to use her power when she could to get money or food, or whatever she needed, but she knows that it isn’t right to steal, and it isn’t right to use a power that nobody else has to get something that you actually don’t deserve.
Marilyn Monroe (Monroe) was an image of fashion and beauty in the 20th century. Overcoming a traumatic childhood to become one of the most confident women. Making bold provocative, but, fashionable statements about how women should be confident about their own body image. Without the help of others, she would not have become the person she is known as today. Marilyn Monroe, a famous actress, who has influenced the rest of the world.
Marilyn Monroe was liked by many, society liked her for the sheer fact that she never portrayed herself as famous, but as a human. She was the epiphany of Hollywoods misguided. She created this noble character that people admired, they also admired her f...
Mariah Carey was born March 27, 1970 in Huntington, Long Island, New York. Her parents are Alfred Roy Carey and Patricia Carey who was a voice coach and opera singer. Mariah Carey shocked her family when she inherited her mother's vocals so she began singing lessons at age four. Today she is one of the most known artist but is also a film actress, music producer, songwriter, and she has won many awards. The day after she graduated high school she moved to New York City to pursue her music career. She started her career as a backing vocalist for Brenda K. Starr who gave columbia records Mariah’s demo tape at a party thrown by CBS records. The goal was to give the demo to a man named Jimmy Greenberg but it ended up in the hands of the president of Columbia records, after that her career took off.
Marilyn Monroe is an icon that is idolized by many and had a great impact on pop culture. She didn’t have the best childhood and had a lot of up and downs in her life. Marilyn Monroe was born in California in 1926. She was named Norma Jeane Mortenson after a popular actress at the time. Her mother Gladys Baker was mentally ill, so she had to put Monroe in foster care. She lived in a foster home until she was seven years old. She had two other siblings from her mother’s first marriage. She never met them because her mom’s first husband took them to live with him in Kentucky.
Music is an inspirational outlet that can be used to convey a message to other people who relate to that message. Music can become even stronger when the person who is performing it is an inspirational source as well. For the past 30 years Madonna has become a well-known artist, actress, and role model to the people who support her. All artists know that they are only number one until someone else comes along and replaces them with more intriguing work to offer. Lady Gaga has been said to be the new Madonna of our generation and is quite often compared to her in many ways by her musical and styling choices. They both share similarities such as their musical genre, style, feminine empowerment, and their support towards the gay community. Their differences can also be seen in those same fields as well.
As the "Queen of Tejano Music", Selena served as a very important representation of Latinos. As mentioned before, she was known as Mexican Madonna for her dance moves and nice looking outfits. After winning Best Female Vocalist and Performer of the Year for nine times in a row it seems impossible to forget the legacy that she has left for us. Selena was a person who stepped out of her comfort zone to succeed, as well as, never let money and fame get into her way. Selena became an inspiration not only to girls who shared her dream but to the many Latino people she represented. Through her music people have and still continue to unite and relate to. As a representation of the Hispanic and Latino culture, Selena has the touched the hearts of many who till this day remember and keep her legacy
Madonna is a controversial legend whose attitudes and opinions on sexuality have forced the public to take notice and change the image of females in society. Madonna believed women’s sexuality was a natural aspect of life; therefore, she dared to challenge the rules and definitions of femininity and sought to expand the meaning of it. In a male dominated world, she wanted to focus on the importance of women and let them have a voice of their own. Madonna shattered all the myths on traditional beauty standards and made her statement on sexuality and feminism, which changed how society viewed the standards of beauty. She impacted female power by encouraging sex- positivity into her music and her style. It is mainly because of Madonna that ordinary women, and women in modern entertainment have more choices and freedom which continues to influence further generations.
Without a doubt there is one major performer that certainly stands out within our pop culture world. The name of this very famous American icon is, Dolly Parton. Dolly has surpassed any rags to riches story that ever lived. She has touched the lives of so many individuals over many decades through her many talents. Dolly started her career at a very young age and continued fulfilling her life endeavors through country music, pop music, and even acting. This American icon didn’t stop with just her talents, she also gave back to our society through charity, fundraising, and establishing her own theme park. Dolly Parton was brought up in a very poor family, however through much dedication she became the famous icon everyone idolized today.
The purpose of this research report is to investigate the personality of Beyoncé Knowles in terms of humanistic and trait conceptions of personality.
Self-development has great importance in society because it allows to an individual to further and improve aspects of themselves in order to obtain a better understanding of themself and adapt better in the world that we live in. With this, one can find and make the necessary changes in order to improve aspects of their lives bringing them closer to success and their goal. Madonna and Maria Callas are both singers whose personality and presence are often given more weight than the strength of their technical performance. Madonna's vocal ability, Jones tells us, was largely considered "the weakest aspect of her performance" (Jones, 2008 p.165). This is evident throughout Material Girl (The Diva, 2008, track 1), where the singing quality is weak, and shows little of the vocal agility one might expect from an operatic diva. Madonna's voice, as Jones puts it, is "lacking in power and resonance" (Jones, 2008 p.165). Similarly, Callas, "battled throughout her career against vocal problems" (Philip, 2008, p.178), although Philip admits Callas' considered technical ability varied between commentators. Philip mentions an "aggressive warble" (Philip, 2008, p.178) in th...
Questions around personality often refer to a person’s identity, or what “makes that person unique” (C.G. Boeree, 2006). Santrock defines personality as a pattern of distinctive thoughts, feelings and behaviours which characterise the manner in which an individual interacts with the world (2005). The word ‘person’ has Roman origins, referring to the masks worn by actors in order to portray a character (W Meyer, C Moore, H Viljoen; 2003). This definition is significant when attempting to unpack the personality of a ballet dancer in the movie Black Swan (D. Aronofsky, 2010), as there are a few levels of interpretation which can be applied here. There is the actor (Natalie Portman) who portrays the character (Nina Sayers) who struggles with her
Madonna’s reputation, however, provides little evidence to suggest any redeeming diva qualities or musical talent. Specifically, her voice is ‘often criticised as being the weakest aspect of her performances’ (Moohan, E,. 2008, p.163) and she upholds her status as a diva due to the ‘notion of her as a powerful and controversial figure’ (Nick Jones, 2008, p. 171) and not her artistic pieces. Madonna’s commanding and creative influence as an entrepreneur enables her to captivate and maintain her position. √ Good. I’m enjoying your discussion Ole.
In conclusion, she is a very good role model. She is a good role model because she shows people it is good to give to charity and she is a hard worker. She also shows that you don’t need to have inappropriate songs or inappropriate performances to be popular. This is why she is my favorite superstar and I wanted to write a research paper on her.
