The issues of our nation are deciphered and judged upon by the government that controls all of the people for security, morality, and justice. The president of the United States determines what exactly goes on within this country of the people. President Obama is close to serving the maximum term of years of in which a person can be president. By the second term of which Obama will no longer be in control, which is by January 2016, two political parties of candidates are going to oppose each other to be the next in term U.S. President. The two political parties which include the democrats and the republicans which both represent different. In his early life, Bernie had watched his father work ardously through the economic disparity that was occurring within America, witnessing the “unfairness”. “ For many americans, the american dream has become a nightmare.”( Bernie Sanders) That was the huge influence and ingenuity for the fascination Bernie had for politics. In his time of high school, where he attended James Madison High school, Bernie involved himself in multiple curricular activities including writing for the school paper, being the captain of the track team, and being class president. During his time in high school he tried to be involved with a small experience of what politics seemed like and tried to be the president of the student body, but failed. Instead he became the class president instead. As Bernie Sanders graduated high school, he applied to the college of Brooklyn College. Due to his mother’s passing, Bernie left his hometown to go to a different college which was the University of Chicago. As Bernie went on to attending the University of Chicago, he became highly involved with the Civil Rights Movement. The time he spent with the university he became the congress of Racial Equality or also known as CORE. He and some other students attending the University of Chicago, were involved in a sit in protest where they were against the segregation happening in off-housing owned by the University of Chicago.( …show more content…

Which includes raising taxes on the wealthy households and corporations, developing a stronger social safety net, and the raising of minimum wage. He believes that those who work more than forty hours a week with minimum wage shouldn’t be living in poverty."I don 't believe that the men and women who defended American democracy fought to create a situation where billionaires own the political process.”(Bernie Sanders) With the raising of the minimum wage, Bernie as the president will create more jobs that will help everyone out who is in trouble. Bernie Sanders highly supports the organized labor.(Miller) With immigration, Bernie supports immigrants who want to become U.S. citizens, though he said that too many immigrants becoming legal citizens can take over the jobs for the Americans. Another major thing that Bernie wants to fix is the broken criminal justice system. He wants to fix that by helping the disadvantages of the people who are criminalized by giving them beforehand the opportunities to the society and the economy.(feelthebern) In his campaign promises he talked about helping the students that attend American colleges by reducing and cutting the costs.
