Also to the previous paragraph, it’s crucial to reflect which is an essential component in gaining knowledge about the early childhood profession (Flottman, 2011) and analyse the presentation.
While presenting the presentation I felt nervous and a bit concerned that I was not prepared enough. However, as I went through the presentation, I felt that I was prepared enough and was able to keep to the time limit as well as my nervousness decreased. The preparation I did for this as outlined in the above paragraph had helped with slowing down and relaxing a bit, as I have trouble with keeping on track while I am nervous.
During the presentation, there were times allocated for the audience to take a mind break and talk amongst themselves. There was also opportunities for discussions throughout the presentation as I would ask the audience to write or think about something that’s within the presentation then discuss this with everyone. These times were great as I was able to calm myself down and also get involved with the discussions. During these discussion sessions there was evidence that the linear process model was occurring. According to Kossen, 2013, linear process model is the sender sending information to a receiver. Kossen, 2013 has divided the linear process model into stages that are the sender (the source) sends a message to a receiver (the destination), the receiver decodes the message and this is used through a channel (the way it 's communicated) and this is affected by noise (Kossen 2013). This being said I have been able to learn from participating in discussions as the audience has similar or same understandings or one goal. Finally it is evident that the feedback given from the presentation has been quite positive and there are only a couple things that needs improvement and these things for improvement are easy things to fix up.
To conclude from the beginning to the end it’s been crucial to have not only knowledge of the audience’s prior knowledge but knowledge about the topic. This report has outlined the ways in which the presentation was developed, how different components were chosen, how the presentation went and the feedback collated. It is evident that there has been a process from the start to the end and it’s important to follow this and this is outlined in an appendix.
