Throughout time spent to achieve higher education there have been multiply resources to aid in preparation. These resources can be used to help students who are having difficulties planning their routines for success. Students struggle at times with anxiety when preparing for class examinations. This paper will provide some strategies that can be used to ease test anxiety and help plan a routine for success.
When taking any notes for a class, use the same notebook. Different notebooks should be used for each class to ensure information does not cross (Rozakis L. 2003). When you start class for the day ensure you date your entry before taking any notes. Dating the entry will aid you in not only referencing your notes later, but it will help you in studying by allowing you to reference your textbooks according to the date you started the lesson. Notes should contain a record of all important information and major topics the instructor presented. When studying your notes you should try to recall all the major ideas in the order they were presented. By recalling the information in chronological order it will help you stay focused. When information is written on the board it should be copied into your notes. If the instructor took the time to write the information on the board, likely the information is pertinent to the lesson and will be seen again at a later date. Be involved in the class. If your instructor is moving rapidly through the lesson get their attention and ask them to slow down. You are in class to learn, don’t be afraid to speak up and ask questions on topics that you don’t understand. Napoleon was a military general that participated in multiple war victories. His interests included history, law, and mathematics. His strengths as a leader benefitted in planning financial, legal, and military plans. His aspiring attitude made him believe he was destined to be the savior of France (Coffin & Stacey, 494). He favored a republic over a constitutional monarchy. When Napoleon came to power, he immediately consolidated personal power by overthrowing the five-man Directory and created a Republic. Napoleon used his status and power during the Revolution to bring out and surface Revolution ideals and help his people. Napoleon’s role in European history was the savior of the French Revolution due to the fact he accomplished most objectives that the people hoped for. Goals of the French Revolution included overthrowing the old regime of an absolute monarch, write a basic and worthy constitution, and give more rights to the third estate and limit the first and second estates power in the Estates-General.
Tests play a major role in a student’s academic career: they determine where the student goes to college, which AP classes the student will be able to take, and so on. Considering this information, it is vital to discover effective study methods that will enable students to retain the material longer and clearer. Let them know that the lecture notes will aid them in studying and preparing for quizzes, tests or examinations. Now look through your lecture notes and highlight key terms that you want your students to remember and key phrases or ideas that you want them to recognize and understand.

Some students simply do not test well, others try their hardest and still cannot reach the impracticable standards set for them. The individuals who create these tests do not understand the pressures of being a student, or the struggle to answer thirty-five questions in a compressed time period. One test cannot accurately measure the intelligence of a student.
High school students don’t know how they can succeed in school and improve their academic performance. A student in high school with unexceptionally easy courses could glide through high school with very limited effort involved and receiving mediocre results. The student receives low grades since they are not required or expected to exceed above any standards set by the administration. When that student graduates high school and begins their college career or applies for jobs, they are vacuous and struggle since they only took the easy route throughout their early life and was never prepared. Everyone has its strength and weaknesses, it can see from when the exam is around the corner. Some students will prepare early but some are not.
Throughout school, I suffered from test anxiety. Taking standardized tests always stressed me out and I would perform much lower than my grades suggested I was capable. Because of my low SAT scores, I worried that I would not be accepted into the college of my choice, but over time I have realized that my positive attributes can offset my low test scores. Working with high school students, I would love to guide students burdened by test anxiety find ways to overcome their fears.
Nowadays, stress is a major burden in the daily life of the average student, and it seems harder and harder to tackle it and eliminate all the factors that cause it. Students find it hard to concentrate on studying since there are a lot of deadlines and exams causing additional pressure. Stress in the form of anxiety and worry about past or future study-related experiences disturbs one’s well-being and students are not doing well anymore (Schutz & Davis, 2000).

Students with academic anxiety are self engrossed and lead to their own academic demise. Test anxiety does not only affect a students performance on a test, but Huberty (2009) asserts that test anxiety overtime tends to contribute to more common underachievement. He describes the consequences of constant test anxiety including lowered self-esteem, reduced effort, and loss of desire to complete school tasks. Students who have academic anxiety also have a higher risk of developing depression, and often feel deprived of confidence (Cunningham, 2008). Thus, academic anxiety can become extreme, and have negative effects of students’ well being.
Most students experience some degree of test anxiety. Test anxiety refers to a combination of physiological, emotional, and psychological components that are caused by the stress of taking exams. This may interfere with one's ability to think, reason, and plan. For some students, test anxiety is an unpleasant experience but doesn't necessarily interfere with exam performance. For other students, however, test anxiety is not only an unpleasant experience but also seriously interferes with exam performance.
Nowadays there are many people who are going back to study, whether it be improving career possibilities or to change career paths. Therefore, people need to develop different types of study skills to help throughout their learning. In this essay I will be describing a few study skills that could be useful in the path to success during my own studies. I will also be explaining how I will be implementing them into my studies.
