In Duhiggs novel, he explains and illustrates how efficient the habit loop is. The habit loop is a neurological loop that controls any habit the brain creates. It is process which consists of 3 elements: a cue, routine, and reward. It begins with the cue which is what triggers the action that can be “physical or mental or emotional” (Duhigg 19). Then the routine is the action that the individual does that eventually becomes repetitive. Lastly, the reward is the benefit or satisfaction the person receives from performing the behavior. The concepts that Duhigg has explained in his novel has really motivated me to change habit and come up with a new habit that I will gain a benefit from. The high rate of transformation in the Golden rule will allow me to keep the cue and reward the same, but change the routine that will eventually lead me to not using my phone constantly. The longer I have this habit it will causes changes in my social life and education. In order to be successful and avoid the consequences I would need to understand the concept of belief. If the individual believes in oneself with many people to support him, there is a chance he will change for the good.
