Florida State University
Florida State University is a great school on a beautiful 456-acre campus in a suburban are. FSU has many things to keep campus life interesting, they have a student -- run newspaper, student -- run radio station, national (Greek letter) and local Fraternities and Sororities, it also has 24 hour security patrols (Choices, 1-2). FSU has seven total libraries with 2,263,257 volumes, 15,511 periodicals, 4,767,120 microfilms, and 43,275 audiovisual titles (Choices, 2). They also have Internet access with a campus-wide computer network (Choices, 2). This all comes together to make an awesome campus.
Florida State University doesn't come free though. Residents get off with a tuition cost of $2,196, but out of state gets stuck with a hefty tuition of $9,184(Choices, 3). On top of that both instate and out of state students have to pay $4,952 for room and board (Choices, 3). College isn't cheap, and then factor in books and any other fees such as Fraternities or Sororities and then it can get to be a lot of money.
FSU is a pretty popular school with an enrollment number of 25,956(Choices, 4). Out of the 25,965 people who enroll 55% are female and 20% are minorities and another 20% are from out of state (Choices, 4). The fact that it's so popular adds to the reason why it's hard to get into FSU. Out of 21,159 applicants only 13,578 get accepted and In order to be accepted SATI and/or ACT tests must be taken and scores of at least a 400-499 on both math and verbal for the SATI test and an 18-23 for the ACT test must be met (Choices, 2-3). Also needed is a 3.0 GPA minimum to get in (Choices, 3). All these requirements factored in set the entrance difficulty level at very difficult (Choices, 2).
FSU's academic program is a fond program; FSU requires 60 semester hours to graduate with an associate degree and 120 to graduate with a bachelor's degree (Choices, 4). There are math and science requirements for all students and senior projects must be done for some majors (Choices, 4). FSU offers many majors including the latest technology majors and pre professional programs (Choices, 6). They offer certificate, transfer associate, bachelors, masters, doctoral, and first professional degrees (Choices, 1). Also for those looking for military service after college they offer Air Force and Army ROTC programs (Choices, 4).
Iowa State University is a land grant school which, among other things, means that the university gets money from the state of Iowa from the taxes that residents pay to the state. Because of this in state residents who choose to go to the university do not have to pay a large amount of money while out-of-state residents have to pay almost twice as much. Iowa State University does not have reciprocity, meaning that even residents from the surrounding states, Minnesota, Illinois, etc., have to pay full out-of-state tuition. Out-of- state residents have to pay about $9000 a year for tuition, while Iowa residents pay only about $2500 per year. (See fig1 for semester costs)
Each university has different versions of a campus environment and academic areas that make it unique, thus having its own individual aspects when it comes to the decision of certain students. The Hofstra campus is known to attract new-comers due to its arboretum and programs; such as business, communications, medical, law, etc. Frederick Soviero writes, “…encompasses 240 acres and provides a beautiful campus setting that inspires and motivates its students…Today, more than 12,000 evergreen and deciduous trees represent 625 species and varieties, and the number is increasing every year. The Friends of the Hofstra University Arboretum have developed a two-acre plot of land for a distinctive bird sanctuary…”

I have applied to Saint Ignatius College Prep because I think that it is the right school for me. Saint Ignatius is a place where I feel that I can be pushed to my limits to learn as much as I can as well as meet lots of new people. I love the esthetic of the school and how kind everyone is to each other. I believe that Saint Ignatius is the place for me because everyone is open to new ideas and others' opinions. Saint Ignatius is a place where I can excel in both learning and extra-curricular related activities. Over the summer, I took a classical mythology class at Saint Ignatius and I learned so much from Dr. Wood (the teacher). Throughout my time at Saint Ignatius over the summer, I learned so much about the school and discovered many more

Graduating from high school is a proud moment in every student’s life. They must prepare what comes next for them whether it’s to get a job, start a career, or pursue continuing education. The cost for a college education can be overwhelming. There are many factors that play into the cost of going to secondary education. College tuition, fees, books, supplies, transportation, personal expenses, room and board. These expenses can vary for public community colleges and four year universities, public or private universities, and state residents or out of state residents. Community college tuition can range from $1,000-$12,000 for state residents and $4,000-$30,000 for non-residents. Four year college tuition can range from $4,000-$16,000 for state residents and $10,000-$35,000 for non-residents. Private four year institutions can cost as much as $25,...
The repercussions from a financial standpoint are by far the easiest to determine. Georgia Southern University’s on-campus housing costs typically range anywhere from roughly $2,300-3,900 per semester. These prices are all-inclusive in that the electricity, water, garbage, and even cable and internet are all included in the price as well as being fully-furnished upon move-in; however, when you take into account that on-campus leases are only 4 months long, you start to r...
The Pixar’s movie Monster’s University has plenty of Ideological State Apparatus institutions according to the Louis Althusser’s 1970 article “Ideology and Ideological State Apparatuses: Notes Toward an Investigation” (Dan Scanlon, 2013). The two main lines of that movie are Education and Culture institutions of ISA (Althusser, 1970). This film shows how Education and Culture institutions teach monsters to live effectively in the monster’s society and follow the ideology’s norms and rules.
Florida International University (FIU) is not only a standard in quality education as it is also a innovator in best practices especially those that have to do with the environment. The University’s commitment to ensuring that its community contributes to the preservation and protection of the environment has led it to pioneer innovations in solid waste management, in particular, in recycling; because the University clearly understands that recycling is more beneficial compared to waste disposal, it has established its own reputation in the proper and efficient management of solid waste.
Most universities require four English credits, at least three math credits, at least two foreign language credits, at least two social studies credits, and at least two laboratory science credits to accept students into the school. However, these schools do look at test scores and students with a musical background do tend to have higher test scores. Additionally, if there is a question between two possible applicants, colleges will look at extracurricular activities. Whichever student has the most impressive list of extracurricular activities is more likely to get accepted than the other.
Tuition alone cost $45,166 for California residents and $58,473 for Out-of-State. That would mean tuition for all four years would cost $180,664 for California residents and $233,892 for Out-of-State. This has not taken into account the cost of living as well as books and supplies. San Francisco itself is one of the most expensive cities to live in. It would come to no surprise if you ended up in debt after attending UCSF School of Dentistry. UCSF School of Dentistry offers financial aid for students who demonstrate a need (UCSF). Also, the school provides different types of scholarships and grants. One would still most likely take out loans to pay off the high cost of attending UCSF School of
The second I stepped onto the campus, I knew that it was where I wanted to be and I felt like I was at home. The atmosphere felt friendly and family-like, the campus and the surrounding area was beautiful, academics are amazing, and the athletics and their facilities are great. The most appealing of these factors to me was the outstanding criminal justice program. This really caught my eye because my long-term goal after college is to work in the criminal justice field as a criminal investigator or a crime scene investigator. Not only does UNF have a great criminal justice program with outstanding professors that were, at one point, in the criminal justice field, but they also have great ties with the FBI and Jacksonville Sheriffs Office,
Companies embracing change, renovate their operation to adapt and survive in the globally competitive market .Interestingly the business environment has altered considerably over the years to meet the current needs of the global market and customers .Likewise adapting to change is also necessary for even highly qualified people .For almost six years, I relentlessly working in the corporate world .Surprisingly in many cases, employees with many years of experience and high education qualification, turned out to be poor performer. The reason behind this lack of interest in updating skills and knowledge .Clearly employees are constantly being assessed on their knowledge and skills A prospective employer always would prefer an employee who
My main short-term goal is going to college after high school to further my education and allow myself to have a better career in the future. I can accomplish this goal at St. Cloud State University, by attending and earning a degree in Software Engineering. Another short-term goal of mine is to become a more independent person. I can accomplish this by attending St. Cloud State and either living with some of my friends who are also attending St. Cloud State or by living in a dorm on campus. The most prominent long-term goal that I currently have is graduating from college with a degree in Software Engineering and being able to start a career in that field. The main reason I chose SCSU for attaining this goal is that SCSU has one of the only
So far, I’ve done well here at the university. I enjoy all of my classes and look forward to them as well. My biggest challenge in the week that I’ve been at UCF has been navigating the considerably bigger campus. I’m sure the more I explore the campus, the more comfortable I will become with navigating it. Once I learn the lay out of the campus I’ll be able to locate the various campus resources, the main feature of UCF that I’m looking forward too. I would like to utilize the various campus resources, like the writing lab and the S.A.R.C to better myself as a
