The music closely bonds with our routine life. Why the people love to produce and listen to music? Music can heal our soul. Music is more than a couple of notes, it has power to change people and bring positive message. It is also the reason that I choose this topic.. Someone believes that the music industry is dying because of promoting passive listening. However, I do not believe the music is standardized. In my following essay, I try to analyze Lady Gaga, who contributes a lot and she is popular across the globe, the reasons of being famous. I divide the essay into four parts. ... there is a few singers can truly to themselves in the music industry. She opens her bisexual identity to public, her political view for gay marriage is written into her songs. She is more likely a active politics than a artist. The fans-made videos reflect how Gaga inspires them and empowers them.
Lady Gaga and her followers exemplify how the music industry needs to ponder active listening rather than the passive one. Lady Gaga’s community is a subculture, which has a strong bonding between fans and Gaga. This supportive group is more than a fans club but a family.
Lady Gaga always hunts for the next album’s producer to avoid being passive listening. In her latest album, she invited Zedd who was only 24 years old as her producer. She likes to make a breakthrough in every debut, working with some young producers to have innovations.
1. Music is a strictly local expression, rich in variety since each culture expresses affective differences through art, 2. Music is a poetic process--complex, vague, and irrational--based upon borrowed traditional musical materials (melodies, rhythms, forms, etc.), 3. Music is for a religious, elitist-class performer who can understand and appreciate its mysterious nature and power, 4. Music is played softly in intimate gatherings, 5. Music making is the activity of Everyman, exacting the talents of variously trained amateurs who, with industry and practice, decorate their recreation and leisure in moments of social intercourse.
...lomon, 2008). Warner Bros (the firm that invested in Madonna’s career) benefited from Madonna’s power to capture the market. Madonna’s unique persona helped her establish high customer loyalty. Warner Bros received an unexpected sale increase during Madonna’s first tour when the initially planned small concert has to add new seats and move to a larger arena because her concert tickets were sold-out within the first hour (Cengage, 2003). The success in selling Madonna’s books and albums are resulted from people’s perceived quality of racy and erotic contents in her work. Madonna puts both her career and personal life on the spotlight to create maximum customer awareness. Although there are some negative associations with her name, Madonna’s ability to reinvent herself to fit the public’s desire has kept her one of the most influential American icons in the world.
Nina Simone used music to challenge, provoke, incite, and inform the masses during the period that we know as the Civil Rights Era. In the songs” Four Women”, “Young Gifted and Black”, and Mississippi God Damn”, Nina Simone musically maps a personal "intersectionality" as it relates to being a black American female artist. Kimberly Crenshaw defines "intersectionality" as an inability for black women to separate race, class and gender. Nina Simone’s music directly addresses this paradigm. While she is celebrated as a prolific artist, her political and social activism is understated despite her front-line presence in the movement.
Marina Abramovic work is about self abuse, self discipline, and unreasonable punishment and great courage. Through the conditions she puts herself and her audience in her performance. In my opinion, her main goal is not to only completely change the way her performance is seen by the public, but to push the performance the same line as fine art.
She is quite a good songwriter as well but she is not world famous but most thinks she does well singing in clubs but often most of the time she moved on to the another place once they notice she age because she does not want them to a think she is some monster so she often moved one place or another. She does not really attach to a person because she knows whoever she attach will die and she would be alone again and well love she believe is not opinion. But another part of her is well she has got attach to good animals but it was never with people because people are the different
The media’s influence on society is a main issue, which is, portrayed though the lyrics. People believe a large quantity of information that is presented from news “One nation controlled by the media” and entertainment programs. The media is so powerful it can make the audience agree or disagree on whatever is being presented. Techniques are used such as repetition, which therefore positions the audience to lose trust in the media.

Hip-hop and rap music are commonly criticized for its anti-feminist lyrics and degrading exploitation of women in music and music videos. (Sharpley-Whiting ) Many feminists have taken action against the music industry, which produces these messages in the music they release. However, in the hip-hop genre there are plenty of successful female rappers promoting feminist views, artist such as Queen Latifah and Mary J. Blige have made the choice to condemn the derogatory culture towards women. (Oliver, 382–384) However others female hip-hop artist, such as Lil Kim or Rihanna, have decided to provide no resistance towards the deleterious depictions of women in their music and in turn sometimes exploit themselves. Due to her extreme fame, success, and controversial image, at the front of this discussion is female rapper Nicki Minaj. Nicki Minaj is challenging the common view of women in hip-hop by proclaiming feminist ideologies through the art of reclaiming the genres negative undertones towards women and by providing an opportunity for women to be seen as equals rather than objects.

In her description she was nothing but a mass of shaking nervousness. However, once she started singing, all the shaking halted and a voice was heard that changed the world in just a matter of time.

Music has undergone many changes throughout and history and prehistory. These changes were always somehow connected to sociological movements at the time. Rock music evolved mostly out of a need by young people of the fifties to break away from so-cietal norms. America had just come out of the Korean War, and men looked to settle down into a peaceful life. Also just prior this time period, Senator Joseph McCarthy ac-tively encouraged citizens to conform with his infamously false accusations of Commu-nism. “McCarthy spectacularly charged that there were scores of known Communists in the Department of State” (Bailey 887). This made people fearful that they would be tried as Communists and led most to conform to a common societal standard. When the nation emerged from this era, teenagers sought to rebel against their parental authorities. They created everything from new styles of clothing to new styles of music to promote their newfound individuality. The new style of music evolving at the time was called Rock and Roll. “Rock has been influenced by country music, by the blues, by classical music, by calypso, by traditional folk styles, and by a variety of other music conventions” (Belz vii). This variety reflects the varied backgrounds of young people at the time. Early successes in this new music genre included Bill Haley, Elvis Presley, Fats Domino, and Chuck Berry. This music only succeeded because the conditions in society and the opinions of the youth in that time period allowed it to succeed. This music revolution is not unique. Similar revolutions will occur if and when the circumstances permit. Modern music is going this direction, but has not reached the point of a new genre as of yet because conditions in so-ciety have not allowed a radical change.
Is Lana Del Rey one of the most depressing female artists to come along in the last ten years? Why? Yes, because that’s her style. Her songs seem to be depressing, but it's a reflection of who she is as an artist as well as the experiences she had early on in life. Her lyrics are heartfelt and poetic in the modern way, and her vocals are not necessarily for mainstream music; she has a whole style of her own that's different from pop stars of this age. My topic will revolve around a discussion of the music of Lana Del Rey. One of the most enigmatic personalities of modern pop, Del Rey seems to be able to speak directly to the human soul, with this magical way of lending her lyrics to our lives.
The influence that music has throughout the world is immeasurable. Music evokes many feelings, surfaces old memories, and creates new ones all while satisfying a sense of human emotion. With the ability to help identify a culture, as well as educate countries about other cultures, music also provides for a sense of knowledge. Music can be a tool for many things: relaxation, stimulation and communication. But at the same time it can also be a tool for resistance: against parents, against police against power. Within the reign of imported culture, cross cultivation and the creation of the so-called global village lies the need to expand horizons to engulf more than just what you see everyday. It is important to note that the role of music in today’s world is a key tool in the process of globalization. However, this does not necessarily provide us with any reasons that would make us believe that music has a homogenizing affect on the world.
