Even if I am here on the other side of the world, miles and miles away from home. Still, I cannot avoid myself to breeze and speak about the coming Local Government Election. Once again, we have the power to change the political landscape of Hinundayan. Our town has come to a crossroad, and we are here to witness as the door opens for us to exercise our rights to choose a person to whom we strongly believe and have complete confidence that he/she has true commitment to public service as the head of our Local Government. I had learned that the stakes in this coming election is very high especially in the Mayoral race, of course! Some of my friends say that “kid” Molina will hit the planned target to be victorious because he is a man full of enthusiastic action with courageous toughness marked by imagination, initiative, and readiness to undertake new sets of ideas for the good of Hinundayan. Nevertheless, some of them also says that “eboy” Lee can still pull it off to stay in the position because they have also confidence and have the faith in her ways of governing our town in her first term as the Mayor aside from having all the means and resources money-wise. In spite of this account, I did my best to absorb it as clear as crystal. Tried to consider every single words they say in a logical way to understand really the nature and meaning of their remarks. As a result, I found out that the linear units of measurement they are using to bring out the best and worst of these aspirant candidates are all based on their social status, educational attainment, principles in life, stupidity, ignorance and personal deep feelings which are oriented towards some real or supposed grievance against the candidate. And because of thes... ... middle of paper ... ... dealing with all the employees and her/his constituents? Is she/he is someone who is dazzlingly skilled in any field with special knowledge or ability who performs skillfully in her/his position for the good of all Hinundayanon and not just to a few chosen ones? Yes, in my continuous and profound contemplation on this subject, I believe these are the very immediate import issues that we should ask ourselves if we are sure-enough that our goals are for the betterment of Hinundayan. Finally, it is a fact that people in different walks of life are not alike in many ways. They have different views, understanding, and priority in life as will. However, these same people deserve our understanding and respect for that's their rights as a human being like us. Even if most of them strain themselves to morally reprehensible offensive remarks more than what is healthy?
· Jim Waterhouse: As a local candidate, Mr. Waterhouse as only reached the status of rural patrol officer within Dover. However, he does have the most knowledge of our local system and its problems. One must also recognize his connections to members of city council and O’Hara Transport.
Both supporters and opponents of the plan are concerned with the political instability produced by rival factions. The state governments have not succeeded in solving this problem; in fact the situation is so problematic that people are disillusioned with all politicians and blame government for their problems. Consequently, a form of popular government that can deal successfully with this problem has a great deal to recommend it.
The relationship between a local government and its people is typically a combined form of stability, as well as discordant moments of tension and rising-to-dramatic change. More specifically, the political climate of the local government differs depending on how those people view the three aspects of their governmental calls and needs: rights and responsibility of the people, obligations of their government, and limits on the local governmental authority.
“The Candidate” is a prime example to the inside of a campaign and the inside of an election. Elections do not only include the candidate themselves but the campaign manager, the supporters, the nominee’s family and the media crew. During “The Candidate” democratic nominee John McKay uses many strategies in order to “not” win his election for senator of California. Going into this campaign McKay was in hopes that he would not win the election, as time passed his view of the election changed as did his strategies.
But human nature, by nature, is difficult and stubborn, and shall not be easily tamed. Bigots may take many forms, with many unpleasant problems tied to them, and one shall encounter them in oneself and in others one is attached to in life.

In order for a politician to make his way up the ranks, he usually needs to build a strong intra-ethnic coalition followed by inter-ethnic support. This can be a difficult task because the the politician has to please everyone, which makes him seem “bland” to his original supporters.
with their religion or ethnic group exposed in a light that may be very negative and insulting to
As a representative of the Algo ethnic group, I want to say that our people would like the new state to introduce a parliamentary system of governence. Parliamentarism is a system of government in which the head of government is elected by and accountable to a parliament or legislature. One could rightfully ask: What is our reasoning for desiring this? We think it is justified because in presidential systems the populace at large votes for a chief executive, who is the President, in a nation-wide election. This is revenant as the Algo comprises the minority of the population of the Republic of Jarth, which consists of only 1.1 million representatives in the whole state, compared to that of 2.9 million Randies, 3.8 million Dorfas and 2.2 million Takas living in the Republic of Jarth. One can reasonably assume that the outcome will most likely be that the cumulation of the majority’s vote will hinder the representation (in numbers) of the members of the minority in office. Subsequently, the Algo will have to live under the control of a leader from another ethnic group again, which the Algo members tremble at the thought of because we are proud of their ethnicity and do not wished to be shamed for it. On the other hand, in parliamentarism, the first step is an election of members of parliament, which are the political parties. This is imperative since it will allow the Algo to be able to choose the party we really share interests with....
Though there are good intentions, history has taught people that judging others can lead to negative consequences. As Allen states, in distinguishing people by labeling, “efforts to address difference can arouse negative feelings from members of nondominant and dominant groups” (Allen 6). Therefore, people need to be aware of how they are judging others, as sometimes, the judgments can be too harsh or rude instead of helpful. It is natural for someone to group others based on how they present themselves in order to make sense of who that someone is and what the situation is. It is not natural, however, to label others for the intentions of being rude. Knowing the difference can help the change the behavior of labeling others, as the overall act itself is

Only after the beliefs’ and the conflicts have been looked over can a resourceful answer be found. And the best solution will always be one that will not breach on the rights of all the people involved in the outcome of the problem.
The racial slurs have been pounded into your head, yet you find comfort in the few friends that you have made. Friends that accept you for who you are, not for what your skin color is. Behind you, whispers fill the air with violence and prejudice against your type. But your immunity kicks in and you solemnly walk away. The snickers and slurs you here pass by you for you have heard way too many. Ignorant and oblivious owners of the words do not know how it feels, what it does to your self-esteem, how it brings you down for they have never been in your shoes. Their words mock your very existence and even though they are not directed at you, you can not help but feel that they are; after all, you do fit in those descriptions. The comments slice
a whole, must push for a change in the government election process to where the elites do
Living in a diverse world should be something a person should be proud of. Getting to know a person’s culture and their beliefs should be a wonderful ability. Respecting one another is important, even though a lot of people still disregard that, which should discontinue. We should all start to learn how to make this world a better place,
Formerly residing in Baguio City and currently residing in Chesapeake, Virginia, I grew up seeing and voting some of the same politicians seeking office for two or more terms with some doing their best to make Baguio City the finest place in the Philippines, while the others have little significant contributions in running the city government and its populace. However, times have changed and younger politicians are becoming more interested in the political arena. Indeed, there is a need to balance the political equation in the local election in the City of Baguio with new, vibrant, and intelligent young politicians who are equipped with the spirit of public service, integrity, courage and commitment. Based on the recent news report in your newspaper there are over 50 aspiring candidates in different positions for the City of Baguio.
