Political campaigns within our contemporary generation are considered to be expensive affairs, as they have opened doors for the monetary system within the United States to coincide with the election process significantly affecting the decisions made within the political realm. Moreover, the presence of money within the U.S political landscape has become a political norm as individuals within the electoral process are granted the freedom to “buy” treatment within the favor of the candidates (Sidlow and Henschen 211). The contribution of money within the political system implies the idea of the electoral process having been turned into a “corporate” business. However, limitations set by the government through the enforcement of laws are in existence to diminish the power and the abuse carried out through financial spending within political grounds (Sidlow and Henschen 211). Furthermore, considering the involvement of monetary assets has spurred a massive evolution within the election process in comparison to the system that existed within the generation of our Founding Fathers. As, the power given to money has “polluted” the current campaign system (Alman, huffingtonpost.com) causing a shift within the political spectrum of our democracy.
The electoral system present within our society today signifies a symbiotic correlation between campaign spending and the outcomes of U.S elections. For example, candidates spend significant amounts of money in order to boost their campaign strategy by appointing various mediums such as managers, consultants, television, radio ads etc. (Sidlow and Henschen 210-211). Furthermore, many factors are taken under consideration regarding which candidate will hold the “upper hand” within the electoral sy...

However, the act was declared unconstitutional under the law laid out within the First Amendment as it violated the participation rights in the discourse of public issues circulating within the political spectrum (Sidlow and Henschen 212). Furthermore, in the year 2000, incorporation of money within politics took a leap as “soft money” was introduced which became widely used and significantly increased money contributions within campaigns (Sidlow and Henschen 212). Due to this, the congress called for a reform by enforcing The Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act, which banned the use of soft money as well as how much money can be contributed to candidates within campaigns on national grounds (Sidlow and Henschen 213). However, the laws implemented by the congress never served the true purpose of reducing money or bringing about any political reform within the system as
