Political and economic factors are the main causes of environmental related problems. However, the society is also a crucial factor to consider. We , as citizens, must work hand in hand with the government in order to make changes. Taking that into consideration, we are going to discover further in two aspects, which are education and infrastructure between London and Beijing. First of all, education plays an important role in shaping society 's common practice. Though the Chinese government has put their eye on the issue, it takes time to make chances in the highly populated society. Also, nongovernmental donation supports a lot in academic development. Authorities in China and the UK have provided loads of funding for education. Something worth noticing is that the UK has several independent charitable organisation, for example,uk national association of environmental education (NAEE) and sustainability and environmental education (SEEd) that support teaching about the environment in the formal education sector. They will host training courses for educators, promote ESD and support sustainable school. Not only the UK government but also the community plays a crucial part. On the contrary, the traditional mindset of Chinese students is to get into high ranked instruction. Living in a highly competitive study environment, most of them tend to focus on the main subjects. In order to understand why China is in such environmental difficulties we need to understand why the lifestyles of people in Europe and the US could be to blame. The first area to consider is the environmental issues that China is currently suffering with. Once this is established I can assert what impact the US and Europe has in relation to these issues and what actually causes them. In linking the events it will be easier to see the chain of events. To do this I am going to work backwards and understand the issues that exist within China and then secondly what they are a result of. This will give me the background of why China’s environmental issues have become so dire.
China’s economy is one very large indicator of its role in globalization. “In 2010 China became the world’s largest exporter” (CIA World Factbook). Without China many places such as the United States of America would be without billions of goods imported from China annually. An influx of companies moving their manufacturing to China has allowed people to flock to cities and find jobs. China’s economy has grown exponentially over the last few decades. In the last three years China’s economy has grown by nearly ten percent every year. Despite this influx of money to China it has also resulted in many drawbacks. For example, China’s environment has been obliterated. China burns more coal than every country in the world combined. Beijing has been so badly polluted that there are actually companies that sell cans of fresh air to people, and gas masks are a common sight. And due to demand for electrical goods from western countries, it has helped China to produce a capitalist economy. This has enabled China’s citizens to have a prosperous lifestyle, which has increased pollution due to the increase in energy use and waste production. Furthermore, although the Chinese government and its citizens are trying to tackle their environmental problems, it seems to be too little too late.

I look up around me, mesmerized by the vastness of the natural world and breathe in the fresh air. Over the course of my life, I have come to respect the environment and the earth’s natural surroundings in ways that most others do not in the industrialized and technological era of today. The very first important development for a successful country is to have a respectable education system for those who need it from the first day they are born into the world. We have to instill what we want in our people to reflect how we want our development to appear. In China, their school system has more of a strict structure, for example, at Harbin Number One High School. Students begin school at 7:00 a.m., and remain until 8:20 p.m. The seniors, preparing for their final examinations, stay later, even until 10:00 at night.
Since the world populations continues to grow year by year therefore the demands on the world’s resources also have been raised. The demands of the natural resources by the increasing population cause the rising of the pressure of the environment. The relationships between human activity and the natural environment are complex because people consume water, food, energy and other natural resources from nature in order to live while the human activity will deplete natural resources and cause environmental stress. Finally, research has shown that basic education is paramount to a nation’s ability to develop and achieve economic development and sustainability targets. Once these targets are identified, a country will need to re-examine its education curricula at all levels, that is, pre-school to tertiary education. Also, as a government develop policies within their countries they should ensure that there is an interconnection between the environment, economy, and social structures and that they become an integral part of formal education, starting with kindergarten and continuing through primary and secondary school and then on through training at the college, university and professional levels.
Well, ina recent article put out by the Los Angeles addressing climate change education, they state that “A policy agenda, focused on reducing greenhouse gas production, and overhauling the tax system, so that the wealthy pay for the expansion of environmental education” is in the works. In the meantime however, I am highly confident that most schools would not mind paying for the cost of materials needed to educate their students about this subject, compared to the cost of loosing our planet to the takeover of climate

If you consider the three to be overlapping circles of the same size, the area of overlap in the center is human well-being. As the environment, society, and economy become more aligned, the area of overlap increases, and so does human well-being. Environmental philosophers are able to open up a range of different ideas behind our environmental crisis. They do this by not only looking at physical marks left by humans on the earth but also at the very humans themselves. Theories don’t only explain complex dynamics and structures but give us an opportunity to reflect upon our own behaviors and decisions in relation to the environment.
