Physical Education is the development and care for the body which enhances performance and the management in athletic games. There are levels of teaching the development to different ages and grades. Physical education allows children of all ages to become active when they don’t have the opportunities at home. With these classes they learn how to perform skills as well as enhance them for sports of interest. Children begin to participate and find ways to benefit their health long term. As these children learn to engage themselves and build motivation they enhance their motor skills. Physical education teachers create ways to benefit all levels in development through health related fitness. The overall objective of physical education is emphasizing on reducing risk of illness and increasing life expectancy through fitness. It is important that the levels of physical education are followed because each level learns at a different rate. It’s important that students begin this process early on so that their understanding of the importance for fitness is fully developed. Students should learn at appropriate levels of fitness that pertain to their healthy lifestyles. Goals and objectives should be set at all ages so that when they grow old enough there is something to build off of. Each level is important in order to continue on with developing fine motor skills. After high school is done students should have an understanding that physical fitness needs to be maintained. Maintaing your fitness for a future healthy lifestyle is the main focus for teaching children about physical fitness. The purpose of this research is to first define physical education. Then, I will explore the history of P.E. In the following section, I will compare and contrast the PE curriculum from past to present. Next, a description of the schooling requirements to become a physical education teacher will be given. Finally, I will share a reflection of my experience with an actual Physical Education teacher. Being a P.E teacher is the career I want, so why not research and get ahead on things?
Physical education should be a fun class, but fun does not have to mean chaos. I believe in a structure that will allow the students to have fun in a safe way. My lesson plans will be structured so that students are constantly engaged in physical activity. I feel that if I can keep students moving and learning, then the chances of misbehavior will decrease. In elementary school I feel that Instant Activities should be used to get students moving when they get into my class. High school is a little different. I feel that students at the secondary school level should be introduced physical fitness activities that will help keep them in shape later on in life.
Throughout an educational discourse, inclusion is a highly debated subject throughout the curriculum. During the past decade, there have been exceptional levels of funding and resources solely aimed at physical education and school sport within the United Kingdom (UK). The DFE suggests that 57% of children with SEND attend a mainstream school (DfES 2007). Physical Education (PE) has been a rising topic of discussion due to decrease in activity and an increasing level of child obesity within the UK(Coates and Vickerman 2009). There are various implemented strategies such as Physical Education School Sport and Club Links (PESSCL) and Physical Education and Sports Strategy for Young People (PESSYP), which are instruments to ‘direct and guide practice and policies’ (Fitzgerald and Stride, 2012). Using these governmental strategies, schools try and challenge and attempt to increase participation and engagement with the aim of providing ‘high quality PE lessons’ (Griffin 2012), which targets the government initiative particular the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games to encourage an promote inclusive PE and school sport (Green 2009). Additionally, Fitzgerald and Stride (2012) distinguish on the concluding issue of inclusion should be recongised as part of a broader international concern to promote inclusive education (Forlin et al. 2008). There are various aspects, which are of high debate within inclusion regarding the national curriculum, initial teacher training and experiences of student and teachers.
The goal of this paper is to inform others of my reasoning why physical educators are important and why it is my dream to become one. There are three main points I would like to discuss: the value of physical education ,being a role model ,and why it is my dream to become one.
Physical activity enhances children’s quantitative development within middle childhood, supporting growth toward healthy strong people, physically and psychology. Middle childhood is documented as being between the ages of six to ten years old. A lack of physical activity affects children across all areas of development; it is not restricted within the domain of physical development. Discussed within are the expectations of motor development within middle childhood, the benefits of physical activity and the consequences of prolonged inactivity. Along with how a student’s physical development facilitates or restricts development in other areas and how the learning environment can accommodate and support the physical needs of students.

Over the past decades our culture has changes dramatically. To which our nation was once a physically active nation. Yet now it seems that society discourages physical activity. The human race has been dependent on automobiles, discouraging people to walk or bike, increasing the chance of a poor life-style. Yet there are many factors that affect the achievement and maintenance of a healthy life. Young people are growing into a diverse society, which is characterized by rapid change, inactive work and leisure practices that influence unhealthy behaviors. By incorporating physical activity into peoples daily routine will increase their chances of being healthier, reducing certain diseases and learning how to avoid injuries. Physical education helps students improve their knowledge about health issues and practices that will lead to a more enjoyable life. Students playing and working in a team together develop social skills, teamwork, achieving goals, and development of self-esteem. Overall physical education provides the potential for a better life style.
A teaching philosophy is critical in my role as a future successful teacher. It will guide me in the way I conduct myself, how I develop curriculum, and how I establish order in my classroom. As a teacher it is important for me to be consistent with how I manage my classes. With a central philosophy as a backbone it will be easy to follow my own simple guidelines.
