Personally, I define philosophy as a study of the fundamental nature of knowledge, reality, existence and the theory or attitude acting as a guiding principle for behaviour. Therefore, I disagree with this statement as philosophy is not just about a deep expression of our wonders and the search for understanding and knowledge. Philosophy broadens our imagination and allows individuals to actively engage and critically think about the wider world. Every individual has different thoughts, values, reasons, language and understanding of the philosophical world we live in. J. (2000). p.264.). Philosophy can be applied to both humans and animals as from many generations ago, human beings are a transformation from homo-sapiens which is similar to chimpanzees. In the philosophical world, chimpanzees are considered as our great ancestors. Even though chimpanzees aren 't considered as humans, chimpanzees are known to be our closest living relatives. Nevertheless, our similarities and differences don 't make people think but learn about a better understanding of ourselves within society and the world. Another unique aspect about the similarities between chimpanzees and human is exemplified through complex greetings and communication skills depending on the social status of communicating. Consequently, chimpanzees communicate with others verbally using a lot of screaming, panting and other vocalization as most of their communication is done through gestures and facial expression. This is similar, towards the way humans communicate with others. Both humans and chimpanzees are able to walk on two legs, but chimpanzees prefer to walk on four legs unless they need to see ahead. Furthermore, humans on the other hand, first learn how to crawl with their hands and knees before learning how to stand which also involves walking sideways, diagonal or moving in a rotating …show more content…

On the other hand, humans spend a comparable time socializing more through talking than grooming. The representation of this is that humans socialize by meeting up with friends, catching up with a cup of coffee and talking about how they have been. Humans also demonstrate stronger relationships through physical contact. The difference between humans and chimpanzees is that chimpanzees have about 50 close friends and acquaintances, whereas humans have between 150 and 200.

Hence, philosophy is not just about a deep expression of wonders nor the search for understanding, knowledge, beauty, meaning and purpose. Philosophy is composed of a variety of context allowing individuals to have a broader imagination of the world as it is a collective idea of principles and the existence of belief and the adjustment of right and
