Nowadays persuasive writing is one of the most common types of writings used in the world. It contains only one or perhaps several arguments and offers support for the main claim in order to convince the reader of the writer’s opinion. The primary focus is to change the way the reader thinks about a specific argumentation or claim. In order to obtain desirable results, the writer needs to be aware of the audience the script could have, and the general purpose of the writing itself. For instance, how the context of the message is written, sometimes is not perceived the same way, specifically when the audience believes on the opposite view; therefore, by writing a specific persuasive argument there will not be any confusion or misinterpretation of the claim in the writing. In addition, integrating external sources may have effective outcomes, but only when such sources are analyzed and cited correctly.
It is extremely important to also have in mind the categories of persuasive arguments in order to meet all requirements that lead to an impeccable writing. First, ethos that refers to the credibility of the author and can be met by proper incorporation of information from different sources. Second, the pathos is another method of convincing the audience and can be done by creating an emotional response on the audience because emotional appeal can effectively be used to enhance an argument. Third, logos also have an important function because they add logic to the argument, which persuades the audience by the use of reasoning, and lastly the kairos that is an appeal to timeliness, and can be met by maintaining the arguments in the writing in a chronological or sequential time.
