According to the personality profile test, I discovered that my results label my personality as a blue color. My best friend, Turner, after taking the test, also resulted with a blue personality color. We met during our junior year of high and our friendship spans over 4 years. We live on the same street and we share the same interests and hobbies. Our similar personalities play a key role in our friendship and how we communicate to each other. As the type of people with blue-type personalities, Turner and I share a common motivation to make our friends and family happy. This motivation serves as the main way of making ourselves happy. Often when we are preoccupied, Turner and I have no issue is leaving our personal tasks to help someone else or each other in any situation. This stems from our similar attitudes in treating others as we would like others to treat ourselves. At the same time, since our happiness comes from helping others, a gesture of repayment is never necessary. However, we also desire words of affirmation to verify our act of kindness, a distinct characteristic of …show more content…
Although we both share the same personality type, many of our personality strengths and limitations conflict with one another. Turner, for example, can sometimes come across as bossy and demanding. These traits conflict with my over sensitive and emotional traits. This conflict can potentially to explosive arguments between us when we have opposing views. Furthermore, I am extremely opinionated and I always feel like I am right. This characteristic of mine also does not mesh well with how bossy and demanding Turner can be. Nonetheless, arguments between us rarely last long as we both are respectful and considerate of each other’s perspectives. Although both our personalities are categorized as the same color, it does not necessary mean that we do not have

An emerging trend among today’s employers is the increased focus on the personality traits of their employees. Whether that focus is on the ability to hire the right person by predicting job performance, or discovering the right “fit” for an employee in a team, a company’s success may depend on these factors. Creating the right team based for the best success of the team is crucial. However, due to project constraints, abilities, market place, etc, the ability to pair the right individuals may not be available.
In the past two weeks, I have learned quite a bit about my personality. I have learned that I am a Blue-Gold personality and that I am also a 2-9 personality. The first of these two I found out from the True colors Personality Quiz. I had taken this quiz this summer as camp and got near results to what I did this time. This time I tied for the colors blue and gold, while this summer I scored one point higher on blue than gold. The second of these two types of personality identifiers came from The Enneagram test which uses numbers as an unbiased grouping system. I had never taken this test and it was interesting to see how many of the numbers I corresponded with. My main two were numbers two and nine, but numbers one, four, and six were all
In the day to day life, experiences and connections are made. Many things that occur in one’s life can all stem from their individual personality, but interpreting how one’s personality guides their life presents a difficult challenge. Many actions, quirks, and patterns that a person has are easily noted due to the ability to see it, but the puppeteer behind these habits is an individual’s personality. A certain personality type can affect the perception of certain events and the reactions/feelings to certain outcomes. While one person might see a situation as dreadful, another may see it entirely different. We tend to find ourselves side by side with people we see similarities between due to a parallel in certain traits, but no two individuals are exactly the same based on differences in personality. Success is hinged on many things and one of those things is the development of self-awareness. To know oneself is key to tackling on intimidating tasks and situations, but to also grow in terms of knowledge and synergy. In my attempt to
With all the surveys and reading that I have done I have concluded that my personality is pretty consistent with what I believe that it is. Before taking this class I knew that I was shy but very friendly, I was very motivated in my school work and social life and my personality is pretty consistent. I also learned things about myself that I didn’t know even existed and now I know terms to describe myself.
One of the biggest factors in the cultivation of an individual’s personality is their past. The past is the road that delivered the individual to where they are today and will affect where they are going in the future. Mine shaped the characteristics that define me and made me the person that I am today.
... (2001) showed that grateful individuals were especially appreciative of the contribution of others to their happiness. Expressing gratitude and reviewing three good things highlighted this, and reminded me to show my loved ones my gratitude.
Accepting the differences of others is one of the most difficult things to do. We all have our style, our own preferences, and our own way of dealing with the challenges of life. On one hand, those differences can lead to miscommunication, misunderstandings, and a decline in company morale. However, if we approach these differences with understanding versus criticizing, it would greatly bridge the gap and have a positive impact on everyone involved. Needs work

There are many types of diverse people classified under various categories. Some people have different types of personalities. Our personalities are what distinguish us from each other beyond our appearance; without them, we would all behave and react in the same way. Personality is the reason we are outgoing or introverted, persistent or blaze, and anxious or calm. We each have different levels of these competing characteristics that make us unique. But why are personalities so varied? Personality is determined by an array of factors from genetic and biological to the personal experiences and decisions we have faced from the day we are born. The complexity of our personalities cannot be simply explained, and for this reason there exists many different theories of how it’s developed and personality is still deeply under study. I went into this subject with an open-mind
Personality tests tell a person a lot about why a person is who they have become. I believe that these test if taken truthfully can identify deficiencies that individuals can work on to benefit not only themselves but others in the organizations that they work in. Some models state that it is in human nature and chemicals that decided how a person acts but I believe it is based on life experiences and a personality can change as long as a person knows the deficiencies and works to change them.
Personality takes many shapes and forms and is affected by many factors. My understanding of personality is simply a genetic and environmentally determined set of psychological traits that influence our reactions in the world around us. Genetic because our parents possess a certain set of psychological personality traits that we tend to have in common with them so therefore in my opinion there are heritable personality traits. Personality is environmental because we each have our own separate experiences in the world and these experiences help form our unique personality. Neo-Freudians such as Jung have given us a wide array of ideas of how they believe personality is developed and formatted. Jung in particular has a very interesting
Personality can affect all different aspects of one’s life. There are links connecting personality to academic and occupational success and social relationships. Health can even be affected by personality because immunity can be altered by personality traits like sociability, optimism, and carelessness. Personality determines the way social interactions occur and when social relationships are determined by how the interactions occur personality can really affect the way one builds social relationships. Just like social relationships, academic and occupational success are affected by personality traits like carelessness, mastery, and agreeableness.
As Paul Harris quotes , “ Personality has the power to uplift, power to depress, power to curse and power to bless.” A person’s personality is decided by more than one factor. His communication, body language and various other gestures present him with the best personality. Personality is not something decided about someone after knowing their qualifications and the post they hold but the impression we get about a person without knowing the above mentioned and just by conversing with them for a minute or two.
