Recommended: Career goals in healthcare

I always had a strong interest in a career in the healthcare. I am basically a caring person and health care profession would provide me with the great opportunities for contributing towards well being of human being. The profession of physician assistant would suit my nature and enable me to obtain a greater degree of job satisfaction. With this aspiration and a great interest in Science I did a degree in Biomedical Science. Recently I came to know about a health care career as physician assistant. As I read more about this career and dwelled further into it, I realised by pursuing this career I would be able to care for others and be involved in diagnosis and management of patients. I have also comprehended that this career will provide me with an opportunity to interact more with patients than it would have as a biomedical scientist. I believe that the career of physician assistant is a noble one and suits me best.

In the past year, my mother became critically ill and I realised that the various physicians attending her could not devote as much time as she would have needed. I felt that a physician assistant working alongside doctors could have provided more time and support she needed leading to a better health care. This has fuelled my desire to become a physician assistant.

I believe my personal qualities, experience and qualifications make me suitable for a career in health care as a physician assistant. During the course of my degree I gained relevant skills and knowledge which will be beneficial for the physician assistant studies course. ...dies course and as a physician assistant. In few weeks time I will be participating in a shadowing work experience at my local GP. I hope this will provide me with an opportunity to observe diagnosis and treatment of patients. Also I will gain a deeper insight into the workings of a GP surgery.

I believe that I am a caring and compassionate person. I really enjoy working with people. I posses great communication and team-work skills as proven by varied work experiences undertaken which are essentials for this course. I am diligent and prepared to work with utmost determination and dedication during this course in order to achieve my goals. I possess critical thinking ability which will be of great help during this course. With my desire to help others I would be able to give good quality health care service if given the chance to become a physician assistant.
