During my field experience, I have been working and observing in a fourth grade inclusion classroom. The classroom includes a range of students. In addition, many of the students receive services from a Resource teacher and speech therapist. One of the students that I Am currently working with is on the Autism Spectrum and he has been diagnosed with having Asperger Syndrome. He is extremely bright and he is also in the gifted program at his school. Furthermore, in the classroom, the student experiences difficulties with remaining on task. He frequently needs prompting to complete his assignments.

Therefore, I began researching different accommodations that are typically implemented for students with similar needs. From my research I found numerous accommodations that would be valuable to my student’s progress and well-being in the classroom. Subsequently, I was able to choose two beneficial accommodations that were viable and appropriate for my student. Therefore through from my findings I was able to learn about the specifically designed accommodations for Autistic children and t...

Personal Statement : Teacher Interview Essay

- Teacher Interview 1. What made you want to become a teacher. What makes you stick with it. Ms. Lippart has always enjoyed working with children, as well as being a leader among people. She never really wanted to work at a desk and sit by herself all day; she prefers to interact with people. She also has a real passion for teaching, and loves to see the light bulb go off in children’s heads once they finally begin to understand what is being taught in classrooms. One idea she really enjoys is how everyday is different in teaching....   [tags: Teacher, Education, Classroom, School]

Essay about My Statement of Purpose

- Statement of Purpose for Tony Harper “Never stop pursuing knowledge and education. These are things that no one can take from you regardless of what life throws at you.” This insightful piece of wisdom was offered to me by my grandfather, a professor at Northern Arizona University. He continually stressed to me that the attainment of knowledge and education are always worthwhile undertakings. For this reason I find myself unfulfilled unless some part of my days are spent actively seeking to further my current understanding of a given subject or endeavoring to learn a new one....   [tags: Personal Statement]

Essay on The Civil Classroom in the Age of Net, by Dr. P.M. Forni

- Wise choices require effective thinking and effective thinking requires some previous knowledge. In the article “The Civil Classroom in the Age of the Net,” Dr. P.M. Forni states that over the past three generations, there has been a decrease of civility in the classrooms, from grade school through college. A synonym for “civility” is courtesy. Teachers and professors have lost respect from their students and have noticed unruly student behavior. This is the result of the new developing digital technology....   [tags: Classroom Etiquette, Informative]

Philosophy/Personal Statement Essay

- Philosophy/Personal Statement I was a bad student in high school. I didn’t study, I got bad grades, I had an attitude, and I disrespected my teachers. I’d like to believe that this was because I was brilliant and existentially bored with the pedestrian intellect of my peers. I’d like to believe that it was because my school was so retrograde and repressive that I was placed into a hopeless situation. But that wasn’t it. I wasn’t especially brilliant; my peers were actually pretty smart; and my school was, all things considered, a reasonably decent place....   [tags: Personal Experience]

Personal History Essay

- I am satisfied with what I have become; a student specializing in Physics with special interests in experimental Condensed Matter Physics. I grew up in a very small town. A town not fully developed; there were very few resources and not many quality schools to acquire a solid education. I had to pass an entrance exam to get into a good school for 8th grade at a time when most students in my town would drop out of school after 7th grade in order to search for work and support their families. My parents could not complete their undergraduate studies because they had to work to support their families, but their emphasis on the importance of education, their dedication and massive effort inspir...   [tags: Personal Statement]

- Statement of Educational Philosophy What is a humanitarian. Webster's Dictionary defines it as one who practices philanthropy; an effort to promote human welfare. As a child, I always knew I wanted to become a humanitarian. I have always loved to help people, which I viewed as a very special gift granted from God. Essay about Personal Statement of Teaching Philosophy

- Personal Statement of Teaching Philosophy I. Teaching Philosophy and Goals I have one goal for my teaching: helping students to think and learn for themselves. This goal is as simple as it is illusive. The more experience I have as a teacher, the more I understand that there is no one-way of achieving my aim. Clearly, the proper focus of education is learning, not teaching; but I know that it is within a teacher's power-and thus it is the teacher's responsibility-to create the conditions necessary to allow students to learn....   [tags: Graduate College Admissions Essays]

Essay about Personal Statement

- Personal Statement Two weeks had already passed and I began to realize the strike would most likely continue on into the next week as well. I was anxious for the only strike in the ninety-year history of UPS to be over. The first week was almost a novelty, a rather large social event with my fellow workers. As the days passed and the second week came to a close, the novelty had worn off. My fellow Teamster members and I had stood on the picket line for two weeks now, eagerly awaiting word of a contract agreement between the union and the company....   [tags: College Admissions Essays]
