Five values that I consider my highest priorities are leadership, loyalty, friendship, merit and wisdom. These values represent who I am and what is mindset towards everything that I do. Leadership is one of the major values that I have within myself because it is a position which lets someone direct people to a certain destination. I enjoy being a leadership because with in leadership responsibility also tags along. When I am being a leader it does not mean that I will tell people what to do, it means that I will guide people to a certain purpose by being proactive with everyone of my followers, meaning that no one is left behind. I normally participate in leadership when we are told to separate in groups and complete assignments. I tell everyone what is the assignment, what are the requirements, who to ask for help, and how we will collaborate to complete the task. Leadership allows me to not only guide, but also assist those who wish to …show more content…
Whenever that topic is brought up I think critically of what I have gained with my own merit and what wisdom I have that most teenagers around my age do not have. Whenever I refer to merit, I believe in the things people have earned in their life and are not just given. For example, I want an Iphone so I decide to work for my money and buy would be merit because I am physically working tirelessly to obtain what I want. I not only value but admire merit because it shows that people struggle to be successful and get what they want without any excuses. Wisdom is very important to me because it is also something that you gain, not something that you are born with or given. I enjoy talking to elder people because they have thing to teach me which I may or may not learn in all my lifetime. I have wisdom when I have smart ideas in my brain because of the experiences and lessons I have learned. In the end, my wisdom impacts the dumb or savvy decisions I make in
Leadership is all about having the right amount of heart and determination to help make a difference in someone’s life. It takes certain qualities to be considered a good leader. A leader should want to help inspire others to make a change and to be the best that they can be. A true leader does not need to feel powerful, instead they empower those around them. Throughout my life I have come across various leaders who have made an impact on my life. It takes a very special person to inspire and touch people’s lives. Leadership is so much deeper than having power and bossing people around.
Leaders do not just appear out of thin air and automatically start making great things happen in the world. A leader must learn from prior leaders or role models that they are surrounded by that they look up to. Not everyone can be a leader, only some people have the correct characteristics it takes to lead others in the right direction. Those who do great things, for example volunteering at a homeless shelter, are not leaders. Many people mistake a “great person” as being a leader, which is completely incorrect (Kouzes and Posner, p. 3). While playing an active role in your community is a positive thing it does not make someone a leader of that community. All leaders have a group of people they have inspiration too and that is a good way of determining who your personal leaders are. My mother, brother, and grandfather are my leaders because I have always looked up to them and tried to mimic some of the great things that I have seen them do. My mother has always been an independent women with goals and an action plan to accomplish those set goals. Stephen, my elder brother, is outgoing and tends to have a leveled head when it comes to evaluating stressful situations. My grandfather is the most caring person I know and he is amazing at keeping situations under control in order to please everyone. These are all the qualities I want to combine into my own leadership style. I know I am not a efficient leader of these actions yet, but I plan on growing into this as I more on into my career, fulfill my set goals, and adjust to the curve-balls that life throws at me.
Leadership is characterized as a person who is a trailblazer, who can take control, in my own thoughts. Being an experienced officer in multiple clubs I credit myself as a leader. I have had to take events into my own hands and make sure things run accordingly. I have had guided a group of middle schoolers through a student council workshop that was put on by student council officers. Being a leader and having leadership qualities if something I’m confident in.
I have a long list of values that I find very important to me, but there is a few that stand out the most. Those values are family, friendship, hard work, responsibility, respectfulness, independence, equality, and honesty. My personal values are extremely important
My personal code of ethics is constructed by a set of ideas and standards that are guided through the use of knowledge and personal beliefs. Each individual is raised with unique values and experiences that internalize personal identity. Our identity is guided and shaped through the interactions from parents, community, teachers, and peers. Leadership identity is no different. Educational leaders should be given the opportunity to take the time to develop their own personal codes of ethics based on life stories and critical incidents. (Shapiro & Stefkovich, 2011, p. 23) Understanding our values and beliefs are the basis for successful leadership. As Shapiro and Stefkovich (2011) state, “a professional ethical code cannot be established without
Leadership to me is so much more than the definition of the person who leads or commands a group, organization, or country. To me, being a good leader means that you are dedicated to your organization, you believe in the future for the group, you trust in the people you work with and you want to make a difference. A leader should be responsible, dedicated, hard working and should take initiative for the group. They should represent the organization and be able to speak for the voiceless, creating a sense of community and a welcoming, accepting space. A leader is someone who takes charge to make a difference, guiding the team members along the way. I work hard every day to be a good leader and I really believe that I have become one. It’s taken
Values are intangible things that are important to us, and that guide us, individually, to make decisions. Each person has a different set of values, morals, and ethics, which is the reason that each person handles a situation differently. Here, I will discuss my top 5 values, and why they are important to me.
Every Leader has his or her own idea of what leadership is, but not everyone thinks the same way. In general, Leaders are those who know how to create a vision, achieve goals and motivate people along the way. My definition of leadership is having the ability to create a vision, motivate people to work collaboratively toward achieving a common objective. I found that my participation in the Service Learning project was enlightening and had a positive effect on my life as a whole. I appreciated the invigoration that I felt as I involved myself in hands-on service to others and for the greater good of the community as a whole.
I rely on the core values family, relationships, loyalty, harmony, and responsibility to guide my leadership.
There are many different things I think of when I think of what leadership means to me. My idea of leadership is to be able to inspire others, get them excited to do something, motivate them and set an example to others. I also think that showing respect to others is a key part of leadership. You don’t just need leadership qualities, but you need to be a successful leader. To me being a successful leader is being able to have people follow you and not disrespect you. If you are a great leader your followers start to respect you more. To be a leader you also need to have certain qualities like being sociable, intelligent, have patience to deal with situations. A leader needs to be motivated or they will be a failure. I think I show leader ship all the time inside and outside of school. “A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way (John C. Maxwell).
Leadership: During my life I have always felt it was important to be a leader in every activity that was presented to me. In school, I have always taken the responsibility of leading my team to get A 's on our group projects. I believe it is important to not only show your personal qualifications but to also bring out the best in other people around you. A leader is someone who can bring success to a group not to just themselves. I show great leadership qualities within my group of friends.
Leadership is the controlling force of the whole world, it allows everything to operate best without any chaos. Leadership is important in business because leaders must manage and communicate with employees if they wish to be successful. Leaders range from the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to managers of different levels.
Values in my opinion should determine your priorities, and they’re probably the measures, you use to tell if your life is turning out the way you want it to. Knowing your own values can help you make decisions about how to live your life. The values that I believe in play a very important role in my life. These important values have been greatly influenced by my family and life experiences. My core values include family, health, knowledge, happiness, friendship, loyalty, trust, hard work, honesty, and learning.
Leadership is trait that is extremely important in any society. Leadership is known as the way people attempting to make a difference in a situation. However, I believe that it is better said to be a way of influencing others actions. Leadership is usually connected to a great leader that affected his or her followers in a dynamic way. Throughout the semester for my leadership class, I have expanded the knowledge in numerous ways. I now have fully understanding of the purpose and process of leadership to a society. Being a leader one must maintain an image of being the role model. I believe that this is leader should be who is someone who has the ability to influence, encourage, listen, and nurture. They are able to inspire, stimulate, persuade, shape, and have an effect on others.
Although all of the values on the list are very important, there are a few that are more important to me in that they influenced key decisions in my life, and my life as a whole. The first value that is extremely important to me is “Family”. I wanted to start off with this one because this is definitely the most important one. Family is what motivates me to do my best everyday. From my supportive parents
