On many occasions, I contemplated on whether to attend a local or out of state college. What degree should I pursue? Will I mentally and physically be prepared to stand on my own and achieve my goals. After a realistic review of my financial circumstances, family support and my career path I chose to attend Lakeland community college. My senior year in high school my parents and I discussed our financial circumstances. I’ve always dreamed of attending Bowling Green State University or the University of Toledo, however the tuition was something my family and I couldn 't afford. The 3 main reasons included working with others, flexibility and room to make career progression. In Human Resources, I will work with people everyday, interview candidates and ask them questions such as why do they consider their self to be a great asset to the company. As a human resource professional I will also organize orientations, speak at new employee orientations and recruit people for the company. Flexibility is the best part of Human Resources because I have the options of working for a small corporation where I would have my own significant level of responsibilities such as only interviewing candidates. Or I could choose to work for a large corporation where I would have a variety of duties to fulfill such as interviewing candidates, hiring candidates and organizing orientations. Room to grow and make progress is also a great reason why I choose Human resources. As a junior human resource professional I will have the opportunity to interview candidates for a job. I also have the ability to make progression to a higher level of human resources such as a senior human resource professional. As a senior human resource professional I will have the responsibilities of running a leadership training program or attend contract
