 Losing a job is always a difficult and painful experience for any individual. It is even more difficult and heart wrenching based on the years of service with the organization, how you lost your job and the responsibilities that are hinged on your employment (family, mortgage etc.). However, as a company, it is important to let employees know that losing their job is not the end of the world. As Bob Marley said “when one door is closed another door is open”. This should be the mindset that management must try to instill in employees as they take on the challenge of a new chapter in their life.
Special care must be given to those who would have had a longstanding relationship with the company; because losing a job ranks number eight on the Holmes and Rahe top ten stressful life events scale. Managing employees’ stress levels is not only crucial to employees, but also to the company as well. This is because we would have seen quite too often employees who retaliated after being laid off; by causing damages to business property and even killing employers of such company. Terrance Gerome Davis, 37 who was arrested and charged with voluntary manslaughter after punching his former employer in his head was one such case. We must remember that person’s lives and livelihood are at stake and must forever be in the forefront of managers’ minds.

...e skills to be able to solve problems more constructively, thus becoming a more valuable team player to the organization. This would stimulate employees to work more efficiently with co-workers, customers, partners and vendors in whatever job they find themselves in. Employees would also learn to use resources within the organization to resolve issues in a constructive manner, with the mindset that the company comes first at all times.
Finally, it was also stated that the overseas workers are well equipped with speed, therefore to be highly competitive Apple employees should endeavor to drastically improve their technical and problem solving skills by accessing practical training in these areas. Furthermore, any training that employees part take in may only be valuable if they learn to work in teams and co-operate which is likely to improve their speed and agility.

Personal Narrative – Vision of Jesus Essay

- Personal Narrative – Vision of Jesus Jesus has appeared in the desert, and in the city. Jesus has appeared on paper, and in sculpture. Jesus has appeared on television, and in art. He has also failed to appear in His tomb. You’d figure that after all that travelling, He’d have to get a bite to eat sometime, so He also decided to appear at “Tim Horton’s.” Now, I would have thought that The Son of God would have appeared at a more high-class joint, like “Red Lobster,” but I, sir, am no theologist....   [tags: Personal Narrative Writing]

Personal Narrative- Contributing to Society Essay

- Personal Narrative- Contributing to Society I am one of those people that you’d probably term “normal”. I attend a normal school, I work at a normal job, I have a normal life. You wouldn’t single me out on the street: there is nothing remarkable about me, I am one of the many. So, what has someone like me got to say that would make any difference to this world. I haven’t fought the important socio-political battles of this century; I haven’t done anything that will be recorded in the world annals....   [tags: Personal Narrative Writing]

Personal Narrative- Most Memorable Christmas Essay

- Personal Narrative- Most Memorable Christmas Ever since I could remember, I have spent Christmas at my grandmother’s house, a house which is full of comfort, warmth, and happiness. At Christmas, I have always been able to escape the cold and dark real world allowing myself to truly enjoy just several moments in time. These moments have left impressionable memories from my childhood making Christmas a holiday that is special to me and my family. It is a time for my family to get together, share stories, laugh, and even cry....   [tags: Personal Narrative]

Essay on Personal Narrative- My Laptop

- Personal Narrative- My Laptop Writing technologies have been shaping the way people live since the beginning of time. In the Stone Age, our ancestors used tablets to organize important thoughts, keep track of daily activities, and pass on their knowledge to future generations. Arguably, their method of writing was inefficient as much effort was being put into carving and preserving the tablet, while the end result contained little information relative to its size. As technologies evolve, we have refined our methods of writing and have come up with newer, cheaper, and more efficient ways to communicate....   [tags: Personal Narrative Essays]

Personal Narrative - Baptism Essay

- Personal Narrative - Baptism I took my first step down into the font and thought. Baptisms are funny things. The brightness of it all is profound. It seems as if there is one brilliant mirror reflecting boisterous cheer everywhere. The idea is to pack as much happiness, either real or faked, into one too-hot room in the hope that it will be absorbed into the absolutely petrified soul of the prospective individual about to be baptized. The joy was so thick that it bounced around the walls and the floor searching for something to absorb it, something to hold it in permanently....   [tags: Personal Narrative Essays]

Personal Narrative – Atheist Essay

- Personal Narrative – Atheist I didn't ask for the pastor to come over. I would have much rather been left alone to watch daytime TV. True, I was beginning to feel I little isolated, but some sissy-voiced holy man I hardly knew wasn't going to make me feel any better. But it was standard policy to notify the church when one of its fold has been hospitalized, for prayer requests and all that mush, and when the pastor heard that I was already home, he felt obligated to visit, as if seeing my swollen, drooling face was somehow doing me a favor....   [tags: Personal Narrative Writing]

Personal Narrative- Helping Others Essay

- Personal Narrative- Helping Others Declining standards of living and continuing exportation of our jobs have resulted in rising stress levels for all Americans. This results in negative effects on our well being – mentally, physically and emotionally. Some people seek to reduce stress levels by using alcohol and drugs. Some overwork themselves, resulting in mental breakdowns. Essay about Personal Narrative - The Role of God in My Personal Transformation

- Personal Narrative - The Role of God in My Personal Transformation While growing up nearly every child feels the need to be somebody, to figure out his identity. Most children attempt to find acceptance from their peers by the way they dress, the music to which they listen, the people with whom they hang out, the parties they attend, or the other activities in which they participate. While I never really felt a strong need to please others as a child, I still struggled with being shy and lonely, and with not always fitting in....   [tags: Personal Narrative Writing]

Personal Narrative – Complications of Becoming a Woman Essay

- Personal Narrative – Complications of Becoming a Woman My mother never told me the complications of becoming a woman in this world. Maybe she thought I was strong enough to figure them out on my own. Or quite possibly, she couldn't tell me, because she never really knew how to face the complications herself. She never told me how to dress a certain way in order to keep up with the latest fashions. She never told me how to wear my hair in a way that the other girls wouldn't make fun of me for....   [tags: Personal Narrative Writing]

Essay about Personal Narrative- Joy in Helping the Homeless

- Personal Narrative- Joy in Helping the Homeless America's strong heritage with regard to allowing its citizens the right to "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" has brought about a mindset that each person should work for his own benefit and personal pleasure. While there is nothing wrong with happiness and enjoying oneself, this route to seeking out joy will usually leave people empty-handed. A recent experience with a homeless man strengthened my belief that true, satisfying happiness comes not from working for one's own benefit but from serving others....   [tags: Personal Narrative Writing]
