My First Day at School

I walked up the small hill towards the school with my parents. I breathed in the air and sighed. The air in Japan is so much cleaner than the air in Hong Kong, where there is a lot of pollution. I had my pencil case and lunch in my school bag like the email that had been sent to my parents had said. What am I going to do today? Is this school like my previous school in Hong Kong? Am I going to make any friends today? Did I chose the right school? Many questions in my head were waiting to be answered. I opened the door to my new school.

I had never moved schools before, and I had no idea what it was like. Outside the classrooms, I saw some new people I saw on Orientation day like Telma, and Maria.
“Hi Maria and Telma, Are you nervous?” I asked.
“Yes,” they answered.
“I’m nervous too. I hope we are in the same class. I’ll be going to see which class I’m going to be in. Good luck for today” I walked towards the class...

Essay on High School vs. College: A Personal Experience

- High School vs. College During high school, I did not have to study as hard as I do now that I am in college. Usually, I would be able to study the day before the test and score a hundred percent. Although, occasionally, I would be able to skip a few classes and get the notes from a classmate or of course, resort to guessing. However, now that I am in college, the lectures require much more attentiveness and are more complex: composing more information, meaning that one has to proportion time more responsibly and take an advantage of good study habits....   [tags: high school experience, college experience]

Personal Narrative: My Day Essays

- I am currently living in a town named Norwood, and as I wake up in the morning the sound of nothingness strikes my ears as if I was stuck in one of those sensory deprived chambers. Attempting to stand up from bed in the first five minutes is useless because I would rise about 20 degrees off my bed then go back down, for that reason I take out the clothing I am going to wear the night before. After I am able to stand up I go into the bathroom, shower to take me out of my half asleep self , then I brush my teeth which ends up always being painful since I always spit out this red bubble in mixed with the toothpaste, which after felling that sour taste I realize is blood....   [tags: essay about myself, Personal Experience]

The Royal Music World Experience Essay

- Many students have the erroneous view that anything; anything at all in the world is better than their school life. They dread the exams, loath the note taking and the bore of a teacher’s lecture. And yet, they have not realized how cradled and protected they are from society. In short, they don’t yet understand that fact that they are among the luckiest of age groups- never to worry about where monetary income is from, never to worry about when to ration their money spending. However, going to an internship changes all that....   [tags: Personal Experience]

For months, we had been counting down the days until we leave. The day was finally here and everyone around was full of excitement. Everyone else had been on planes multiple times in their lives. Personal Statement Essay

- Growing up as the son of a rural Iowa veterinarian, I got my first experience in a medical field while riding along with my dad on calls, and from an early age my interest was piqued. It was the first of multiple experiences that pointed me toward a career in physical therapy. In my elementary and junior high years, a couple of elderly neighbor ladies often called on me to help them with chores around their homes and yards. This is where I first discovered my love of working to help others. It was rewarding beyond any payment to know that I was helping them live independently a little longer, even if I was only playing a small part by doing their odd jobs....   [tags: Personal Experience]

Essay on Personal Statement

- I learned from the high school class I taught that two people can be looking at the same thing but each see something very different. The teacher (me) was white, privileged, and coddled throughout my suburban childhood and adolescence. Most students in my class were black or brown, poor, and grew up mostly on their own, living on the unforgiving urban street. They opened my eyes (often against my will and certainly against my “druthers”) to their alternative society. I learned that this hidden society exists unseen and mostly ignored within the larger normal American society of laws, schools, careers, and families; it comes to the attention of general society’s gatekeepers only at points of...   [tags: Personal Experience, Autobiography]
