Personal Code of Ethics Ethics is the study of what is right or what ought to be, depending upon the action of individuals. The reason why the individual, plays a major part in ethics is because the principles of right and the moral quality of a course of action depends on them. As individuals, we are moved mainly to action and not by moral judgments alone. People in society today use a set of principles that have been written, modified, abused and constantly changes throughout the years. In contrary, we must acknowledge both secular and religious followings, which have codes of ethics that they themselves supposed to follow.

The text mentioned that value of life is important because, “there can he to ethics whatsoever without living human beings”. This statement falls right in my code of ethics. The Death sentence for example, some countries still does it, I personally do not agree with taking another human life because no other human should have that right to take another man life, because the new testament says so. The word “Ethics” has its root in the Greek word ‘ethos’, which means character, spirit and attitude of a group of people or culture. Ethics is defined in the Concise Oxford Dictionary as: a system of moral principles, by which human actions may be judged good or bad or right or wrong, and the rules of conduct recognized in respect of a particular class of human actions.
“Ethics”, in general, is nothing but a principle of conduct. Ethics can also be defined as moral philosophy which is used to answer questions related to morality. The word ‘Ethics’ has been derived from the Greek word ‘Ethos’ which simply meant “the state of being” or “to keep ones soul pure”. The sub divisions of ethics are as follows;
Ethics refers to a system of moral standards that guide the decision for human conduct of what is right and wrong based on everyday life situations, usually in terms rights, obligations, benefits, fairness, or virtue. Ethics is used as a formal guideline for conducting business in order to minimize pain to the greater number of people as a whole. The principles of ethics come from the knowledge and understanding of the word of God, the Bible. It tells us how we ought to think and behave toward one another considering first, how we want to be treated. For instance, we have the right to freedom of speech as long as we don’t insult the integrity of others. In addition, God gives us examples for how make right decisions and warns of those to avoid. Knowing this, that if we have love in our hearts first, for our heavenly father then we’ll have compassion for our fellow mankind to behave ethically.
Ethics is a doing and learning experience which causes us as humans to keep an open mind to change. Generally, ethics ask us to live mindfully, to think how we act and even how we feel or do things, which can change the outcome. Sometimes we go down certain roads, which may be harder or make things more complicated or complex instead of making an easier option we just take the easier way out, usually the way that calls for
Ethics is a broad branch of philosophy which deals with the moral behavior. In this regard, actions are classified according to the consequences they result to, internal characteristics as well as the character exhibited by the actions in the end. Three ethical systems are used to judge actions between the wrong and the right. I will concentrate on utilitarianism that is widely used over the world.
Ethics are the fundamental basis of human behavior. They dictate the nature of human interactions and actions in various spheres of life. Some ethical guides are prescriptive on how people should act while others are based on specific situations. While they generally remain unwritten societal morals and values, people are always exposed to learning their societal ethics that dictate the nature of human actions through socialization in various social places.
The magnificence of human life is so transparent because it is sacred seeing that it is an act of creation. Life diverts an inimitable place in creation since it was created in the image of God. The protection of human life is the conclusive value, a support of beliefs and ethics and the basis of all morals and principles. Life should be looked upon with respect to where one is in time, because time moves on. As time moves on, one encounters the problem of which path to follow. In the stages of early life, youth are taught about the choices they should and should not make. So even as a young child, one knows that their actions will be judged and one should be able to tell right from wrong. God has presented humanity with life and throughout life one must realize that life’s actions should be analyzed, understanding of liberation should be expressed, and the better opportunity for the poor should be accentuated.
Ethics are the set beliefs and values of an individual which they apply to circumstances relating to morality. To act in an ‘ethical’ manner, an individual must display integrity by doing what they believe to be right.
My personal code of ethics outlines the values and principles, which I believe in and rely on in life; the code determines the decisions I make concerning my daily activities and my association with family, colleagues, and the society. The values and principles also act as my main point of reference when I am faced with a dilemma and need to make a sound dec...
[1] Ethics is defined as “the code of moral principles and values that governs the behaviour of a person or a group with respect to what is right or wrong” (Samson and Daft, 2005, p.158)
Life is the ultimate value for each and every one of us. Probably the single most important thing we can do in life is to serve the purpose in which we were created. I still do not have a clear view of what my Philosophy of life is, but I do have a better understanding of the path I need to take to seek those answers and am well on my way of accomplishing this goal.
