Recommended: The philosophy of epicurus essay

The topic of this research paper is about Epicurus and how he played a role in Ancient Greece. This assignment had to be done individually. In this research paper I had to do many things. I first had to get sources of my philosopher. I had to obtain two physical sources and a minimum of one internet source. Then when I had my sources I had to write a 2-3 page research paper on philosophy and the role that it played in Ancient Greece pertaining to the value of individuals and the role government should play in society. This took two days for research and a week to type the essay. The critical thinking skills I learned was purpose, question,information, inference, concepts, assumptions, implications, and point of view. I like information the most because in any kind of issue, you have to use information because without information you cannot prove your point, you have to need evidence to support your claim. In this assignment, I needed a purpose and a key issue to complete this assignment. The purpose of this assignment was to create a research paper about philosophy and I had to explain how it played a role in Ancient Greece. I had to explain about my assigned philosopher who was Epicurus and I had to discuss how he felt about government and what he teaches the people of Ancient Greece. The key issue is to accurately write an organized essay with multiple sources. I had to get two physical sources and at least one source from the internet. In every quote I had to explain or paraphrase that quote and that shows Clarity. Then when I was finished with the internal citations, I had to develop a works cited page with all the sources I used in my research paper. This shows that I used accuracy and precision because I used sources ... ... middle of paper ... ... would live in peace. This shows significance because without a philosopher the world will feel defeated and nobosy would have advancements and the best form of government to live in. The most challenging part of this assignment was finding evidence about Epicurus’s beliefs. The least challenging part of this assignment was typing the research paper. If I had an opportunity to do this again, I would want a different philosopher to write about. I actually like the topic of this assignment because some of the philosophies that were studied in Ancient Greece is used in the modern day. This assignment relates to the real world because some of the philosophies that philosophers study now was from Ancient Greece. In my opinion, I feel like opinion is the best critical thinking skill because in any kind of situation you have to use information to back up your argument.
