With this semester being my first at Pensacola State College, it has gave me the opportunity to compare it to other schools I have been enrolled in. Currently, I am over half way done the semester, but during the course of it, I have gained a great amount of knowledge that I do not believe that I would of got at another college. Pensacola State College has been great in every aspect, from the online schooling to registration, which made becoming a student here seamless.
Registering for classes at Pensacola State College was as easy as could be. PSC makes it easy to get registered for the upcoming semester. Before I signed up for classes, I scheduled an appointment with an academic advisor to walk me through the process. When I met with my advisor, he was extremely friendly, full of knowledge and had a answer to any inquiry I had. The first thing we did during the meeting was go over my previous transcript from Northwest Florida State College. My advisor then showed me how you can log into the SpyGlass system and do trial schedule. I found this extremely helpful when registering, ...

The university has an established community living agreement in which all incoming students must accept and abide by while furthering their education. So far, I am only in my first semester of college, but I love it. I have met a whole new set of friends and find that things are always happening on campus and in the city. I was homesick for about the first week, but after that I never thought about being homesick again. I had too many interesting things to do. For the first t...
Almost nothing is better than getting a good education and it is important for everyone to attend where PCC is a great place to start. So, Pasadena City College is located in Colorado Blvd and the school has a lot of beautiful views. In my opinion, PCC is a great school due to their diverse programs and the supports that they offered to students.
Summer term 2016 was the very first time I was considered a college student who attended Florida International University or any university for that matter. I was nervous, intimidated by the drastic changes that were about to occur in my life. As a first semester freshman I did not know what the college life held for me and did not want to. I was closed off from my surroundings and felt comfortable going from home to school and back home. It was convenient not having to be involved in all of these extracurricular activities and clubs. I would always have more than enough time to excel in my studies as I breezed through the semester with exceptional
Only two months ago, I moved into room 426 of Trinity Hall and began my journey at Azusa Pacific University. I still remember how nervous and excited I felt when I arrived. Everyone was incredibly kind and overjoyed to have the freshmen move in. Beneath all the exhilaration, I had three big fears that felt like heavy weight on my chest. Because I did not grow up from a Christian family, I feared that I would not fit in with everyone else. I was also intimidated by how extroverted everyone was. I was introverted, so it required extra effort for me to make new friends. Another one of my fears was nursing school since the nursing program is known for its heavy load of work and commitment. Through experimentation, communication, and hard work,
St. Petersburg College (SPC) is a large multi campus college that was found in 1927 as a private, nonprofit, two-year college. SPC started its school of nursing in the year 1956 and became the first community college in Florida that offered a three-year nursing program. In August of 2002, the college started offering baccalaureate programs leading to Bachelor’s degree in education, nursing and technology management. The College of Nursing (CON) received its first National League for Nursing (NLN) accreditation in December 1970 and since then the CON has maintained its NLN accreditation (St. Petersburg College [SPC], 2012). The CON offers four different nursing programs, namely; associate degree in nursing (A.S.), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to Registered Nurse (RN) transitional A.S. nursing
California Baptist University (CBU) is located in Riverside, California on a 142 acre campus. There is a population of 7,957 students with a 100% Christian faculty and staff. On average, 35% of students are men and 65% women. There are 150 undergraduate majors offered, and 45 graduate majors. Some majors offered that I am interested in are in the College of Architecture and Visual Art and Design, as well as a Pre-Physical Therapy and Kinesiology. I have a strong interest in both graphic design type fields, as well as a science and fitness interest in physical therapy.
Deciding to go back to school can be life-altering, whether it is one year after you graduated or a decade after graduation. It is especially difficult for adults returning to school. There are significant challenges faced by adults which can be quite demanding. While Central Piedmont Community College is recognizing these challenges and providing non-traditional delivery methods, there are still a few areas of challenges these adult learners have to overcome. This requires a larger effort and discipline from these adults.
impressions of the classroms and teachers I met were good. I do like attending Sandburg
"Tomorrow is the first day of what I will become." I wrote this in my diary the night before my first day of college. I was anxious as I imagined the stereotypical college room: intellectual students, in-depth discussions about neat stuff, and of course, a casual professor sporting the tweed jacket with leather elbows. I was also ill as I foresaw myself drowning in a murky pool of reading assignments and finals, hearing a deep, depressing voice ask "What can you do with your life?" Since then, I've settled comfortably into the college "scene" and have treated myself to the myth that I'll hear my calling someday, and that my future will introduce itself to me with a hardy handshake. I can't completely rid my conscience from reality, however. My university education and college experience has become a sort of fitful, and sleepless night, in which I have wonderful dreams and ideas, but when I awaken to apply these aspirations, reality sounds as a six thirty alarm and my dreams are forgotten.
This semester was my very first semester as a college student. Being the first, it was probably the semester I would learn the most in. I learned the expectations for writing that I will have to live up to for the next four years of my college career. Though my high school teachers were usually demanding because I was in the Honors English section throughout high school, writing in college has still ?raised the bar? for me. Also, in high school, we would have weeks to pick a topic, create a thesis, outline the paper, write the paper, and then revise the paper. In college, the time restraints are not quite as lenient. I?ve had to learn to manage my time and be more productive with what free moments I have. Strangely enough, I?ve found the college English experience to be much more rewarding and enjoyable than in high school.
My first semester at Michigan State University was filled with many challenges that have made me a better student. It tested my ability to work under pressure, as well as encouraging me to properly plan out a healthy work schedule. Most importantly, it put the responsibility solely on my shoulders. Not only did this require me to stay on top of my work, but it encouraged me to find value in the work I was doing. All of this allowed me to look back at the semester and see drastic changes in my abilities. This was especially noticeable in my writing course, a subject that I have struggled with my whole life. Throughout the semester, with the proper resources, I was becoming an experienced writer, and learned many skills that I struggled with in the past.
must stick with it. A cabinet could be opened at home and a variety of tasty
So throughout this semester I have learned more than I thought about myself. I have learned about my skills, values, strengths, weaknesses and goals for the future. I have learned about what motivates me to be in college and what keeps me here now that I am here. I have learned what it takes to keep myself healthy and prepared to what is to come while also preparing myself for what I want to do in the future. I have also learned without all the great people here at Ohio University that I would never have the opportunity to be as happy as I am today. I am seriously proud to be a bobcat and I would have it no other way.
