She goes on saying that she “watched him develop senses of patterning and order by arranging and rearranging his cards for hours on end, and aesthetic judgment by comparing different photos, differ ent series, layouts, and color schemes.” Baseball can be considered in some sense a contact zone between Sam and the rest of the world. This is important in that it shows how education, if centered around the student, can create a much more lasting impression on the pupil then if it were completely generic.
