Beautiful Panama
Panama is a country full of beauty with a vibrant culture. In Panama there are a lot of things to see, do, and eat. Panama’s is official name is the Republic of Panama. The capital of Panama is Panama City. This country is located in the in the southernmost part of Central America. It is bordered by Costa Rica to the west and Colombia to the southeast. It also has the Caribbean to north and the Pacific Ocean to the south.
Panama is one of the countries that were explored and settled on by the Spanish in the 16th century. In 1821, Panama broke away from Spain to join a Union. The union included the countries of Ecuador, Venezuela, and Nueva Granada. The Union was called the Republic of Gran Colombia. This union later ended in 1831, although Panama and Nueva Granada still remained joined. Later, Nueva Granada became the Republic of Colombia. In 1903 Panama withdrew from Colombia with the United States backing them. This allowed the Panama Canal to be constructed by U.S. engineers. This took 10 years, from 1904-1914. An official arrangement was signed for the whole Canal’s to be transferred from under U.S power to Panama’s power in 1977.
Proceeds from the canals tolls shows how an important part of Panama’s gross domestic product is made. Panama is known for its large economy. It is ranked third or fourth in Central America based off economy and also has the fastest growing economy in Central America. Last year in 2013, Panama was ranked 59th in the world based off the terms Human Development index. Before and during the advent of the Spanish in the 16th century, the known people that lived in Panama included Cuevas and Coclé tribes. ... a great variety of tasty foods that are both good and nutritious. People of Panama also love sports. Basketball is really popular in this country. A lot of people from Panama have played for professional teams in the U.S. Many Panama is not only known for its beautiful land but its rich culture and its astonishing history and pass. Panama and America are not too different. For instance, both Panama and America have the same currency and listen to the same music. Also they enjoy the same sports as we do. All in all, Panama is an amazing, beautiful, and vibrant country.
