One of the things that I have learned is how to use different resources at college. One of the resources is the library. Since the library is closed right now I learned how to use the online library. I did not know how to use the library website at first, and know I know how to use it better. I use the website for almost all my classes. I use it for finding articles, and doing research. I think this resource will be the most helpful to me, because I can use the online resources to find articles, books, movies, and music. If I need to do research on a topic, I can always request a book and check it out from the library. The COL 101 class has also helped me with my future.

Just last week I was trained in a new computer system that will replace the old one used in my facility; it will be activated this march. One of the equipment used in respiratory is the mechanical ventilator or respiratory, the ventilator delivers breaths to a patient with incompetent lungs. The machine with the proper technology can be synched in to a data base and upload vital measurements relating to the patient’s lung status which provides physicians the tools necessary in making decisions. That task used to be done manually by an RT and is now performed electronically by just pressing a button or even automatically by installing a program. Although technology has improved respiratory therapy one of the disadvantages is by lessening manual labor will eventually reduce the need of manpower. The role or an RT is continuing to be redefined with every new systems, new trends, and new tech gadgets in the market. It is empirical to the success of an RT to keep up with the demand of this ever changing field through education, not only on the substance of the field but also in the area of information literacy. My education plan involves online education to attain my bachelor degree in respiratory therapy. Through my experience in TESU, I realized that I need to keep taking classes and update my

In my past academic experience in research and information literacy one of my strengths are to search online as well as books to seek the information I needed. To evaluate and determine if the information relates to what I am studying and if it is accurate. Being able to take the information that I have gather and be able to understand what information that I
HISTORYThe Library of congress was established by an act of congress on April 24, 1800. It was originally housed in the United States capitol. The collection, which stared out small at 740 volumes, slowly increased to over 3,000 volumes by 1814. That year, though, the British along with the capitol burned those books during the assault on Washington. To rapidly replace the collection, Thomas Jefferson offered his personal library to congress at no cost, describing the nature of his books like so: "I do not know that it contains any branch of science which Congress would wish to exclude from the collections; there is, in fact, no subject to which a Member of Congress may not have occasion to refer." This changed the library from a tiny legislative workplace to the largest national institute that it was about to become.Jefferson’s more or less 6,500 volumes formed the heart of the library, and grew speedily in the nineteenth century. The new copyright law of 1870 demanded that two copies of every single book copyrighted had to be given to the library in order to receive protection.
When students are deciding on where to go to college, they have the option of choosing between online classes and the traditional classroom classes. Today, some students are finding it much easier to maintain a job, family and start a college career, all by taking online classes. Although some students still prefer to stick with the traditional classroom classes, they still have the option to take online classes. Both online and the traditional classes will provide the educational requirements needed to obtain a college degree and opportunities in the work field. Although the online classes offer just as much as the traditional classes, they are completely different when it comes to teaching methods, course material and time.
A College also provides a useful online library that can be access to help students with their studies. This library offers three different databases which students can use to research class assignments. The three databases are EBSCOhost, Gale Power Search, and ProQuest. Here I can find articles, journals, and other sources of educationally based on the material in my search I conduct.
So far, I’ve done well here at the university. I enjoy all of my classes and look forward to them as well. My biggest challenge in the week that I’ve been at UCF has been navigating the considerably bigger campus. I’m sure the more I explore the campus, the more comfortable I will become with navigating it. Once I learn the lay out of the campus I’ll be able to locate the various campus resources, the main feature of UCF that I’m looking forward too. I would like to utilize the various campus resources, like the writing lab and the S.A.R.C to better myself as a
The Library Commons at Olathe Northwest is a natural extension of the secondary library’s traditional mission in a digital world. My library offers a wide range of elements to foster student learning in new and creative ways. My goal is that this space fits the need of every student. Students who need to complete an assigned task that calls for collaboration can meet in the library and plan, discuss and complete their assignment. At the same time other students can be searching for a great book or looking online for sports scores or prom dresses. The forty computers in the library offer access for any student who walks in the door. And just in case more computers are needed, a wireless laptop can be called into service.
...mpus isthe use of WebCT. This web site allows professors to create a source for the course syllabus, lecture notes and course calendar’s to be posted, along with public forums and public chat rooms. All of this is available forLSSU students at their web page. These are examples of how exactly technology has affected education at Lake Superior State University.
