Online education has been progressively increasing and becoming more prevalent throughout modern society. As the technology advances in school systems, the presence of online learning should advance as well. Most Canadian universities already take part in this new era of learning, however not all institutions offer online courses to its full potential. E-learning courses should have an increased presence in Canadian universities because it is cost effective, convenient, and allows youth to advance in technological as well as practical skills. Web conferences, group projects, and class discussion forums take place throughout online courses to ensure interaction among students; even though the interactions may not be face to face, students are still encouraged to talk amongst classmates online. Because the whole point of online courses is that it happens with a computer, there are technological drawbacks to this concept. The students that partake in these classes are very dependant on the technology and resources that support them which may cause difficulties that one cannot avoid.
