Some benefits of selling on Alibaba is that they have such a large market share of over 640 million users, they have great global reach to buyers from many countries, they have high quality sourcing that makes it easy to find the right buyers and the accessibility allows everyone to be a user (10). Lastly, the cost associated to the economies of scale provides advantage by providing multiple sales channels in one port, from the variety of connected sites; Taobao Marketplace, Tmall and Juhuasuan …show more content…
Comfort shoes because of a price disagreement or trust issue. The options to create an eBay business store or use their valet service seems tricky and difficult to accomplish. With all the requirements of creating an online store through eBay would be too time consuming and overall not work as well as we would like. And with the option of eBay 's valet service, the reviews and time it would take is very discouraging for selling Dr. Comfort shoes.
Other things to consider about Alibaba is that the company does not have a great reputation and have a lot of complaints. Complaints consist of problems with products and services, along with billing, advertising and delivery (13). A couple things to consider when using Alibaba is knowing who the buyer is and review their company profile and make sure that they are verified, along with the company 's reliability(14).

Shoes are one of the essential survival tools because they provide protection to our feet where the balancing and supporting of our physical weight occurs. Not only that, but shoes are also perceived as fashion items. In the current era, the kind of shoes we wear represent who we are and contribute in giving people distinct individualities. However, as looks can be deceiving, these shoes are not as simple as they look when it comes to production, manufacturing, distribution, consumption, disposal, and measurement of their values. In order for these shoes to become products, various actors are involved including: consumers, firms, government, and the workers (Commodity Chains That Bind, 2013).
An extensive research study will be initiated determining what the male customers want in an athletic shoe. These studies will take place online, by ground mail, and by telephone. Once the information is gathered the various types of men's shoes will then be developed focusing on the most popular needs determined by the survey results, which will include a question regarding price. L.A. Gear will then compare the needs of the customers to the industry leaders and determine how the leaders achieved the needs of the male customers and what opportunities L.A. Gear could use to "one up" the competition. L.A. Gear's shoes already focus on comfort, style, and fashion and will now include high performance.
The other problem people face with many other online clothing retailers is the inconvenience caused if they need to return a product. With our service, the customer does not pay the price for the product and has considerable amount of time to come to a decision as to whether or not to buy the product. This removes any remaining doubt in the customer’s mind and increases customer confidence levels.
The company can improve its channel strategy to enhance its current performance in one way. The company’s website is too reliant in the physical stores. The website has photos of the physical store ostensibly to help customers to connect with it. This idea seems well founded. However, the target market for any company that operates an online shopping system is not local. It transcends geographical boundaries. The company needs to consider how it can make the online shopping experience authentic and complete for customers who may never visit any of its physical stores. A website makes a company a global player. In this regard, the company needs to expand its channel strategy to take into account an expanded potential market. This shift in strategy will increase the sales the company makes.

Zappos.com is a website that started off just selling shoes but now sells items such as handbags, clothing, and housewares in addition to shoes. Their company logo includes their catchy name with an explanation point as the end in the shape of shoe print which leads consumers to believe Zappos has strong feelings about the service they provide to their consumers. Zappos believe that customer service is the number one priority and is focused on cultivating repeat customers which is why they have always provided free shipping on both orders and returns; occasionally provides upgraded shipping so customers can receive their shoes the same day that they are ordered even though this is very expensive to the company; and they only show products on their website that they actually have in stock albeit they lose 25 percent of their potential business by doing so (Walker, 2009).
