On the political standpoint the three concerns most favorable to me are gun rights, education reform, job creation, and economy growth. Gun rights are a huge issue for me and a lot of people in the state of Virginia. It’s a huge concern, because anyone that wants to be able to have self-defense is for the 2nd amendment. The 2nd amendment states as a citizen, we the people have a right to keep and bear arms which shall not be infringed. The second main concern is the education reform. The education reform I am most interested in is student testing, teacher testing, teacher pay, and class size. The last main concern I have is job creation and economy growth. The reflection of employment shows how well our economy is doing. Those are the issues that mean the most to me.
Gun control is a huge issue for me because I want to have the right to provide myself with self-defense. Forty percent of all United State’s homes have guns. My individual household is included in this percentage. Eighty-one percent of Americans think that this is a very important issue in determining which candidate they would vote for. Ninety-one percent of Americans say there should be at least minor restrictions on gun ownership. Fifty-seven percent of Americans say there should be major restrictions or a ban. I believe that the citizens of Virginia should be able to defend themselves. I don’t think that citizens will be able to defend themselves properly if gun control becomes too strong. If the government thinks making stricter guns laws will help with gun violence, they are wrong because a criminal or a murderer is going to get whatever kind of gun they want, even if it is illegal. Just because a law is a law doesn’t mean everyone will follow it.

Essay on Personal Narrative of Helping Social Issues in Colombia

- Almost twenty years ago, Carlos Eduardo Jaramillo, a renowned Colombian historian and violentologist, insisted on the need to find the women hidden amidst the thick smoke of black gun-powder . The Colombian government has postponed its obligation to implement gender-just and transformative reparations in order to face many other urgent issues, such as the provision of humanitarian assistance to the victims and the search for a peace agreement in the midst of continuing offensive military operations....   [tags: Corporacion Region, War Survivors]

Racism and the Narrative of the life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave

- Examining Prevalent Attitudes on Racism and the Narrative of the life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave When we look at the issue of racism from a politically correct, nineties perspective, evidence of the oppression of black people may be obscured by the ways in which our society deals with the inequalities that still exist. There are no apparent laws that prohibit or limit opportunities for blacks in our society today, yet there is a sense that all things are not fair and equal.
