The Olympics have been around since 776 BC and have changed a countless amount of times since then. As The Olympics grew with age, the purpose shifted from faith to reason. Where many people believed it brought the countries together, the reality is that is caused destruction throughout the countries. It heightened tension and pressure and stressed the economics of the country.
The Olympic Games, as they are known today, were in Greece, to honor the god Zeus. The first games were held in the city of Olympia in 776 B.C. That 's how they came to be known as the Olympic Games. The games were held every four years for about 12 centuries. They ended in the late A.D. 300s on the order of the emperor Theodosius. The world’s nations engage in games, while fighting wars, committing genocide, slandering, verbally attacking and hating each other. The nations of the world are not truly concerned with coming together in “brotherhood” for friendly competition. They are interested in seeing how much better they are than their neighbors. And the only way to validate that is to win. They will do anything, including cheating, to achieve victory. And that is how the purpose of the Olympic Games have changed over time. In Ancient times, the purpose was to honor Greek G0ds and personal honor and sportsmanship. There are only rare cases in which the countries earn money from hosting the Olympics, but most of the time the debt that they get themselves into take years, or even decades to pay off.
