Observation
The act of observation is a very important way of doing social research. It is a natural way of observing people in the public or any environmental setting without interrupting their activities. The data and facts created through the eyes of participant observation are qualitative and reliable. I was asked to conduct the observation in two public places and here are the findings of my observations. People are not aware and conscious about being observed in public which also add to collect facts accurately.
I went to the mall yesterday. The location of observation was at Town center mall at Kennesaw, Georgia. There was a playground for the children at the second floor of the mall. It was a white ceiling and the green floor mat. Both …show more content…

Though it was completely different place from mall but environment was very similar. There was also a separate playground for children as well as there was a place for people to do exercise. As in mall, you could also see lot of children and parents in Public Park too. I saw a couple walking in the park with their dog. The dog was barking at the stranger. Most of the children got scared by seeing the dog. Actually it was a bull dog, very giant and scary look. I saw children being dressed up according to their gender identity. All the boy children were dressed up in blue whereas girls were dressed up in pink. Boys and girls were not playing together rather they were forming their own group. There was one particular girl dressed up in all pink. What made her different from other children was that she had a large Barbie doll with her. She looked like a four years old kid but was very active and interacting with her doll as if the doll was a human being. She was playing a role of a mother and doll was her daughter. She pretended to change doll’s diaper as mother does for her baby. She even holds the baby on her lap and trying to feed bottle milk. Her mother was sitting next to her reading a book. The book she was holding in her hand was fifty shades of grey. I could see her facial expression while she was reading the book. She kept on touching her hair with her hand every now and then while
