Obesity epidemic in America
As we look at the people around the streets, we see many Americans who are obese. Not to mention, obesity is caused by overeating and lack of exercise. Not to mention, American people will eat to an extreme amount where they cannot move rather than just being full. Furthermore, obesity is a problem in America where it continues to grow each and every day. Everyone knows that obesity can cause bad health problems; however, they continue to have an unhealthy lifestyle. Obesity is defined as a condition of excess body fat where it is best known as overweight. With the secondary sources, it will demonstrate the problems, risks, and prevention of obesity in America.
Obesity is one of the major problems in America’s health where it can lead to many deaths. The problems that cause obesity are food systems, local environment, and social conditions. Sadly, ”the main problem has been the increased availability of high energy food” (Shah). Not to mention, healthy food tend to be more expensive than less healthy options which cause people to choose the unhealthy options due to their money budget. Furthermore, those food advertising cause people to have a desire for foods that are saturated fats, sugars, and salt (Shah). As for the local environment, people need to find a place to be active such as sidewalk for walking to increase the level of physical activity. In our society, we rely on cars too much that cause less physical activity during the day. In fact, social conditions can lead to obesity such as not having a flexible schedule at work or a good income. An example is when you do not have enough time to eat lunch; therefore, you grab a bag of chips or cookies instead of a sandwich or a salad. Furthermore, ...

...t walk around your office instead of sitting at your desk all day. There are always times for physical activities; however, people are avoiding being active. In fact, people need to go out into their community to stop the obesity epidemic such as learning what schools, hospitals, and workplaces can do to make a healthy choice in their lifestyle. An example is having healthy selections of food at these locations and brochures that teaches people to choice their food wisely. Sadly, the portions of our meals have changed dramatically where it had increased the amount of food on the plate. It is best to drink a lot of water before eating because it will cause you to eat less amount of food. Furthermore, dietary changes and exercise can help you decrease the chance of any health problems and being obese. Just remember a healthy lifestyle needs exercise and healthy food.
