One solution to help decrease obesity would be to limit or decrease the amount of time people spend in front of a screen. When people sit in front of a screen they do not stay active or even move for hours. Researches have concluded that the leading factor for obesity in children is due to the increased amount of TV time. The same researchers have supporting reasons that there is an increase in eating food, the nutritionally depleted effects of food advertising, and the decrease in energy when a child could be outside being physically active (Welch). This simply shows that during just a short amount of screen time someone can put on a significant amount of weight. People watch TV about every day so when they continue to binge out while in front of a screen they are gain unnecessary weight. Health experts suggest that not including homework or work involved screen time should be about 2 hours or less per day (“How Can Overweight and Obesity Be Prevented?”). Basically, people should limit themselves to no more than 2 hours of screen time a day to help improve their chances of staying healthy,

Another solution to decrease obesity would be to have parents and family members get involved in each other’s lives. Parents have the opportunity to control their children 's’ lifestyles and they should start to take advantage of it. Families should cut down on fast food and take the time out of their day to plan better meals. With less fast food and healthier meals, the better lifestyle people will live. Parents should not make their children finish their plates or reward them with desert. If parents reward their children with food, they will start doing stuff more often to be able to get food randomly. Families can stop buying junk food so...

...lifestyle choices they can make, but they can encourage them. With the help of parents, families, communities, schools and the government, people can decrease the problem of obesity. Encouraging someone to exercise and eat healthy can make a great impact in their life. Communities should come together to motivate people to exercise and stay healthy when they are young, but not force them. Parents could organize a color run so that while people are running or walking there is color being thrown at them and after the run there is music and games. It is better for people to start enjoying physical activity when they are younger so that they group up loving to exercise. People should not downgrade someone because they are obese, but encourage them to be healthy. Obesity is a big problem in the U.S. and it is about time people start joining together to make a difference.
