John Kenneth Galbraith once said, “More die in the United States of too much food than of too little.” We as Americans have become guilty of taking the food and the ease of getting it for granted. One can simply go a gas station or a nearby fast food chain and order food that is just horrible to our bodies. However, in the south it is far worse than that due to the schools and the lifestyle of food that is located here. The school’s students attend have nasty meals which result in bringing outside meals that are still unhealthy for the kids to eat. There is a great problem of obesity in the south but there are solutions like those of eating healthier and increasing physical education time to fix this problem and to get children educated early on ways to prevent obesity.

... they can but it’s the citizens of the states to carry them out and help fight obesity. Promoting healthy food options and providing charts for the public is good because it can show people how they should eat and how they should balance their meals out. As well as eating healthier, physical education plays an even greater role to fighting obesity. Having PE classes opens children at young ages to sports and games they like so they can go out and play them on their own and do that instead of binge eating and watching tv. There is a great problem of obesity in the south but there are solutions like those of eating healthier and increasing physical education time to fix this problem and to get children educated early on ways to prevent obesity. As a final point, Tom Vilsack once said “The rise of childhood obesity has placed the health of an entire generation at risk.”
