The great Buddha once said, “The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly” (Jonathan, How to Live in the Present). Unfortunately, humanity today doesn’t always conform to that statement. The human race generally hates chaos and disorganization in any shape or form. That being said, humans love to plan ahead and look to the past to avoid future mistakes.Typically this is fine to do, since everybody does it at some point in their life, but its when you begin to over think the events of the past or the future that it becomes a problem. When you overthink and stress about events in the past then you are unable to move on and it begins to control what you say and do everyday of your life. While overthinking the future doesn’t have such dramatic effects, it does create more stress, which is not good for both your mental and physical health. Life moves too fast to be worrying about the past or the future, so just stick to the present because you may end up regretting it later on in life. If you’re always planning ahead and making plans for what you are doing tomorrow, then you are probably doing today what you had planned yesterday, meaning that you aren’t actually living for today, but for tomorrow. Thats not living in the moment, not even remotely close.
The past is something that we all dwell on once in a while, but there are some people out there who cannot let go of the past and thus are controlled by it. A normal person typically moves on from the past and leaves it behind them, but some may become traumatized by something that may have happened in their past or may feel like they may be judged because of their past. Say s...

Ultimately, it goes without saying that the past is a place we cannot revisit and because of this every event, that have happened in life before, will make an influence on it. Moreover, some things might change person's life in drastically way. However, people should understand that everything what happened in the past - stays in the past, and there is no reason to worry about bad occasion that already gone and relieve all negative emotions again.

Unfortunately life has many hurdles and roads unturned. I do not feel we should regret the mistakes we have made in our past. Or else, we may be too hesitant to make correct choices in our future.
I close this essay with a message to anyone who may be reading this or even have the same troubles as me. Life will always throw challenges in your way, you will be lost at times and even scared to death. But in the end you will prevail. “Each day of life is a gift, that is why it is called the present”
live day to day as a means to survive, and only then would we truly
In order for an individual to thrive, they must continue to rebuild themselves and let go of the past, however, that is simply unrealistic. The past can be binding, manifesting itself in every aspect of the present and the future. It can hold back happiness and growth.
Everyone makes mistakes, yet even the smallest of mistakes can change the entire course of history given a time machine and a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Learn to cherish the life on this Earth, and don’t let poor choices dictate the future ahead. Making the right decision is key to success, and only we can choose what successes we want to
Seizing the day is extremely harder than what people think. We as human are made with the lateral septum, which is the part of the brain that makes us worry. Worrying can causes anybody’s day to turn terribly wrong. I disagree with some when they make the notion to not let petty things bother you like; bills, lack of money, love etc. But I also can see how people can say those things. Those are the people with all the perfect things in life and they don’t have worry. It’s like saying “easier said than done” meaning it is much more difficult than it sounds. In Harbord Morant quote he states live everyday as your last because you might be right. Take from this quote that it means never take a break from enjoying the roses. Even though we all have life issues we deal them with on a daily basis. You can’t...
Winston Churchill said, “All men make mistakes, but only wise men learn from their mistakes.” While I have learned from my mistakes in the past, all the experiences that I have endured have made me into the person I am today. Even being a work-in-progress, I have a solid foundation, strong internal support and blueprints of the person I will become. And the day I become a complete multi-colored sculptor of experiences and hard work, I will have helped and inspired others to do the same.
There is a basic understanding of what transpires when repression occurs; when something shocking or traumatic occurs, a person’s mind analyzes and deals with it. When the mind cannot deal with the occurrence, it pushes the memory into sub-consciousness where it cannot access it. In some instances, the repressed memory may emerge into consciousness. Many studies on the concept of repression focus on memories such as; accidents, death of loved ones, and memories of childhood cases of sexual abuse. Many of the subjects unearth memories events that occurred 20, 30 or even forty years ago. Such results raise further questions on the influence of repression on individuals. The questions look into whether repressed memories influence personality and behavior and the reality of the memories.
...lead to stress-another thing that is so common. If one chose to live simpler lifestyles and slow down their lives a bit and relax rather than overwhelming themselves with so much, maybe they would be able to enjoy their lives more. Managing time will lead to extra time to go out and create memories, and focus on living and being happy. When one departs from this world, they will think of their past and recall memories and become content with they fact that they did not let their time slip away being overwhelmed and completely trapped in the world while working their lives away to simply satisfy their materialistic needs. One will look back and remember that they lived a life of meaning, a true everlasting joy to know that they lived a great life.
Many individuals have different aspects as to how life should be valued. Some individuals live life a day at a time while attempting to make the most as if their last breath was upcoming. In a Stanford Commencement in 2005, Apple CEO Steve Jobs quo...
If you’re not living now, you’re giving up your life. You are giving up your ability to create. If there are changes you’d like to make in life, the best time to do it is NOW. Jesus said, don’t worry about tomorrow. Forget the losses of yesterday and focus on what you have now, the friends and family you have now, the money you have now, the ideas you have now and thank God for them.
The hindsight bias, as defined in the article Hindsight Bias and Developing Theories of Mind by Andrew N. Meltzoff and Geoffrey R. Loftus, occurs when “people armed with advanced knowledge of an outcome overestimate the likelihood of that particular outcome, in essence claiming that they ‘knew it all along’” (Meltzoff). People who are victims of this very common bias can be drawn to the idea of going to the past to fix all of their problems because they live in the present. Knowing what the present holds, people believe that if they went back in time, they could change the future and, in turn, have a better
...you in your past, you are not your past, you are the resources and the capabilities you glean from it. And that is the basis for all change.” In conclusion, learn from your mistakes, remember what talents got you where you are today and success will eventually come along the way.
