It is one way for the hotel to make profit as if they can offer highest rate for the hotel room, the guest bill will be higher and if the guest bill is higher, their tips or points will be higher too. Suggestive selling benefits guest when they are unsure to make a decision. All part in the hotel can be used in suggestive selling such as front office, rooms, office services, personal services, food and beverages, lounge and also gift shop. Other than part in the hotel, if the hotel is chain hotel, front office can suggest the customer to experience their chain hotel at different place. For food and beverages department, servers were trained to sell the food and promote their food as well to give satisfaction to the customer. As an example, if the guest is overlook on their menu, as a waiter, they should suggest to the customer the profitable menu in the restaurant or new menu that the customer can enjoy. It also can create more memorable dining experience. Other that that, by doing suggestive selling, server can show their empathy towards the guest as if the guest have dietary requirement such as allergies or if they are vegetarian. People with allergies cannot simply eat food that contain the ingredients they cannot eat. The server should particular with these type of customer and serve them by following their dietary needs. Other services that they can offer under food and beverages department is room services such as early-bird breakfast services, meals, party services and alcoholic beverages. For example, if a guest want to order... ... middle of paper ... ...age at spa and massage to their guest after workout at the gym. As for spa and massage department, they can suggest other services to the guest such as having sauna or flower bath for the guest. Some hotel also do promote the facial treatment, manicure pedicure and hair remover for their guest. Next area of the hotel that can be included in suggestive selling is laundry area. Laundry area not only wash the linen, they only wash the guest clothes. Usually, people that stay for long period time tend to used the hotel laundry. It is not the room attendant job to pick all the dirty clothes but they can suggest to the guest to send their dirty clothes to laundry. For example, a situation whereby a housekeeper that clean the occupied dirty room while the guest is in the room may suggest to use their laundry services provided as the staff saw a pile of dirty clothes.
The word “hotel” comes from the French language, which originally meant the villa built by the rich people to entertain important guests in the countryside. For the last 200 years, the definition of hotel has been evolving into something much more than a simple building: a world-class hotel is a comprehensive entertainment system that offers conformable and convenient guest rooms, various restaurants serving representative local foods, business conference rooms equipped with high-end communication devices, recreation centers specially designed for tourists, and other daily life & entertainment facilities, such as swimming pools, gyms, post office, banks, gift shops, beauty salons, and

A lot of hotels on the island, have their unique characteristics that may or may not influence people’s choices in staying in your hotel. This impacts the recommendations because people are likely to stay at a hotel that offers the amenities of an authentic Cuban hotel.

Every hotel has a set of expectations based on their location and the culture their property is immersed in. Some people travel thousands of miles to be a part of an unfamiliar culture. With this said, hotels need to ensure the design and authenticity of their properties meet the cultural requirements of the culture they are a part of. Also, hotels need to read up on the legal aspects of the culture they are within because laws vary everywhere. All of these things will allow hotels to meet the cultural expectations put on them by their

Moreover, most of the researchers used quantitative methods but on my opinion, qualitative approach would be better to understand in depth more about how they think, what they prefer or how they react and how they feel when it comes to specific criteria's such as hotels concepts and design. Finally, as a business man and founder of a Architect, Design and Art magazine in Middle east and be cause of my relations with a lot of business men and organizations, I found that business travelers needs always an efficient strategy of communication between their team or between them and other companies specially when they visit another country for business, and they were always talking about the business hotel services and how it has major effects on their image with their clients. I believe that with more observation and more interviews, I will be able to know more about their needs and
Amenities, location, packages, rates, special offers - just a few of the many factors that are considered when choosing the functions of a hotel. I was very curious to see how different types of hotels differ in what they offer, how they offer it, and where they offer it. These services are extremely significant because they are what define a hotel. They define what type of guests they are targeting, what type of hotel they want to be perceived as, and what level of service they want to deliver to their guests. The impression of the hotel left on the guest is essential for the success of the hotel. The idea of adding amenities to keep up with competition or getting creative with services offered is not new. The Journal of Retail & Leisure Property mentioned that starting in the 1970’s, “hotels and resorts tried to gain market share from their competitors by increasing amenities in the guest rooms.” The services and amenities have always been a factor when deciding what approach to take when trying to find the most success. By comparing an average 2-3 star hotel with a 5-star hotel, I was able to gain a better understanding of the different services offered in hotels and the different expectations that certain guests have in their stay.
The Hotel industry has become very important in the past years due to immense traveling and growth of international business. The Hotel industry not only plays an important role in the life of people but as well as the economy of the country. I spent an hour of my day relaxing in the lobby at the Fontainebleau resort in Miami, while on vacation with my family visiting from out of state. It was my first time staying at the resort so I was eager to check it out, after seeing such great reviews on Yelp and hearing great things from friends who have been there in the past. The employees working at the resort were very welcoming, professional and willing to go above and beyond to help their guests. The check-in process was very quick due to having

Water-Tourists require clean and dependable water for survival including drinking, cooking and cleansing. However, the hotel uses water for other amenities, which are expected by the tourists such as, swimming pools, spas, etc. The most water used in hotels are in the laundry room, kitchen, restroom and landscaping. The frontal office of large hotels mostly uses a computerized system to manage the guest information and pass it to other departments in the hotel. The frontal office is made up of a team of people with each person having various responsibilities in handling the guests. For the small hotels front office, the reception desk may not be computerized and mostly the reception area handles all the guest information and also carries out other tasks such as showing guest to their rooms. In general the small hotels do not have a team of people or at times has very few people in handling the guests. (Bardi, 2006)
