Recommended: Regulation on internet
Introduction
This paper takes the look at Net Neutrality’s impact in business and the debate it has recently started. Net Neutrality is a network design concept that argues for broadband network providers to be completely detached from what information is sent over their networks. It makes the argument that no bit of information should be given priority over another. This implies that an information network such as the internet is most efficient and useful to the public when it is less focused on a particular audience rather attentive to multiple users. (Net Neutrality: definition)
In 2011, the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) implemented regulations to prevent Internet providers from limiting users’ access to specific websites and services. The U.S. Court of Appeals decided that although the FCC has the legal authority to regulate broadband Internet, the rules were based on statutes that pertain only to telecommunications services. A 2005 ruling previously in the Supreme Court, describe Internet provider as providing information and not telecommunication service.
With this form of regulation, a provider is not able switch to tiered plans that charge additional fees for access to services like Netflix or YouTube. Consequently a person's online experience would depend on what they are willing to spend. As the number of sites on the Internet continues to grow and the quality of data becomes more sophisticated broadband service providers are seeking to regulate how data flows to users through their already taxed networks.

is the central concern of net neutrality. Consumers, competition and network owners would benefit directly from the regulation of network neutrality because it would provide a positive impact to those parties as well as provide equality. CONSUMERS The Internet came to be because of the user. Without the user, there is no World Wide Web. It is a set of links and words all created by a group of users, a forum or a community (Weinberger 96). The concept of net neutrality is the affirming concept behind

This affects the constitution, businesses, and people overall who are tech savvy. Net neutrality affects
(Friedlander 908). Throughout its lifetime, the regulatory aspects concerning the control and transportation of the data has been heavily debated. To some, the internet should remain in its current state being an open and equal internet, better known as net neutrality. However, others argue that internet regulations can be revised to be more efficient. This idea introduces the issue of trusting those in power of the broadband that connects users to the web suitably for all. The multifaceted debate in balancing
Net Neutrality is the idea that all internet service providers, companies that connect you the consumer to the internet, must treat all internet data equally regardless of its source, destination, or type (“Net”). If used correctly, this principle ensures that all information on the internet is equally accessible to all consumers (Price). The Open Internet Order, an act passed in 2015 by the Federal Communications Commission, shortened to FCC, protected Net Neutrality under the law and reflected
Net neutrality is essentially the freedom of internet users being able to access all networks and enjoy all web services. These services include applications, websites, content and platforms without any discrimination by the Internet Service Providers (Stiegler 2). The term also connotes that consumers should access all the legal information on the World Wide Web at an equal rate of speed. These ISPs include Comcast, Verizon, and AT &T Network. Disturbing net neutrality can have adverse access to
Net Neutrality The internet has grown immensely ever since it first started around the time August of 1960 when it was just a proof of concept at MIT. Now the internet is felt like it is a necessity, we must be able to access it all of the time with our smart phones with no more that the fastest speeds possible. The idea of net neutrality is to keep the internet free, and not to priorities speeds for companies who will pay more for it. Consequentialism and the justice theory are helping fight the
In December 2017 the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) repealed net neutrality, leaving the Internet hostage to service providers. This decision caused a chilling effect on the sharing of ideas by allowing service providers, such as Comcast or Charter, to suppress certain websites by throttling the speed of which the site
completely unbound from the provider's investment. Also the Federal Communications Commission can also require service provider's to combine certain elements of their networks at the request of the customer or user. However, in regards to network neutrality, the Federal Communications Commission does not have the authority to enforce any such rules. This decision stems from the Telecommunications act of 1996 which gives the Federal Communications Commission the ability define standard leasing rates
