There are hundreds of natural disasters that occur on the earth on a yearly basis. Some natural disasters are more severe than other natural disasters. disasters include floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, and tsunamis. These disasters cause great trauma, stress, major property damage and sometimes death. Natural disasters is any catastrophic event that is caused by nature or the natural processes of the earth. The severity of a disaster are measured in lives lost, economic loss, and the ability of the population to rebuild. The bigger, the population the disaster hits, the more repairs needed. In many cases, these major events are heartbreaking to watch, let alone to experience. (“Natural disasters,” n.d.) The types of natural disasters are hydrological disasters, meteorological disasters, wildfires, health disasters and space disasters. Hydrological and meteorological disasters are the most common types of natural disasters. Hydrological disasters are a violent, sharp and harmful amendment either in quality of earth 's water or in distribution or movement of water ashore below the surface or in the atmosphere. Hydrological disasters can have disastrous consequences and leave lasting damage, requiring years to repair. Meteorological disasters are caused by extreme weather. Meteorological disasters come from rain, drought, snow, extreme heat or cold, ice, or wind. Hurricanes are products of the tropical ocean and the earth’s atmosphere. Winds grow with great velocity, generating violent seas. They sweep the ocean inward while spawning tornadoes, producing rains and floods. Each year on average, ten tropical storms develop over the Atlantic Ocean or Caribbean Sea. Many years since the hurricane and still they need so much help. Hurricane Katrina relief organizations include American Red Cross, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), Safe and Well, International Rescue Committee, Salvation Army and hundreds more. Charities are the voluntary giving of help, typically in the form of money, to those in need. Charities have been giving on a few hundred dollars each month to New Orleans. They also have charity songs, symbols to contribute to the healing of the lovely city of New Orleans, Louisiana. The world is healing with New Orleans and all of the affected states from Hurricane Katrina. Today, much of the city appears to have found it’s rhythm again.
