The first letter in my psychological profile is an E. The E is reflective of my extraversion type personality (Neubert 53). Each person is either an extravert or an introvert (Neubert 53). Introverts are people that are more reclusive or reserved. Accordingly, people with these personality types keep to themselves when dealing with others (MBTI). Extroverts are those who are more expressive and out-going in their personalities (MBTI). When an extrovert is nearby, ordinarily, people are going to know they are there. An example of how I am an extrovert is how I am always looking for someone to talk to at a social gathering; I enjoy talking to anyone who will listen.
The second letter in my assessment is an S; which stands for sensing (Neubert 53). The other personality element that is an option in this category is an I; which stands for intuitive (Neubert 53). Sensing individuals are those who gain information from a real experience, rather than gaining information from my impression of a situation, which is a characteristic of an intuitive individual (MBTI). I can see how I am a sensing individual. One example of this personality trait involves driving a car. Some of the most well-known ESFJ personality types are Steve Harvey, Bill Clinton, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez and Tyra Banks (16 Personalities). I was surprised to learn that Danny Glover, Jennifer Garner and Sally Fields were also ESFJ personality types (16 Personalities).
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator assessment has been a great tool to learn about myself and others; astoundingly, I can’t believe I’m considered to be popular (16 Personalities). Nevertheless, the profile of an ESFJ personality fits me to a tee. I found it interesting that even though there are 16 different personality types, a total of 12 percent of the population would be the same personality type as mine (16 Personalities). I look forward to learning more about myself and my family members now that I know about this great assessment tool.
