Success is something that everyone wants to achieve. By many peoples standards how successful you are depends on how much money you make or how famous you are but, it is so much more than that. Throughout the years my personal definition of success has changed completely. When I was younger my idea of success was when my parents handed me a lollipop for cleaning my room; now, it is the feeling of being satisfied with myself and all the work I have completed. The feeling of completing something and knowing you did a good job by feedback or just being happy with yourself is the real definition of success. Self awareness is consciously employing behaviors, beliefs, and attitudes that keep you on course. As one develops self awareness, you can make changes in the way you think and the interpretations you make in their mind. Having a heightened awareness is like seeing the world in slow motion and noticing every little detail. It is an attribute of emotional intelligence and a very important factor in achieving success. It allows you to become aware of your emotions and lets you see how to take control of them. It can be developed through practicing on focusing on the details of your personality or behavior. It allows you to make better choices in how you act and if you ever feel an unhealthy emotion you can easily switch it up. If you asked a year ago if I was happy I would have said no. I struggled with a lot of things. Then I started to choose to be happy and change things in my life, and I did. Because I realized how unhappy I was and what was causing it, which ranged from how I acted to friends to family situations, I was able to make healthy changes. Today, I choose to be happy and not focus on little things. I take in the detail of life and do not allow myself to make wrong decisions or to be sad. This has helped me to be successful because once I started feeling better, I started doing better. My school work improved along with relationships with family and
