Introduction
This past week of LED 480 class was both informative and challenging, due to the fact that there was so much information to decode. Also, this class has the added pressure of being the last one before I begin writing my Capstone project. Getting to this stage of my Organizational Leadership degree plan has taken me over 24 months of non-stop classes. Therefore, this class is very important to me, in particular because it sets the foundation for my Capstone research project. Ultimately, there were several key aspects that I learned during this past week, such as ways to get organized, advanced online library research methods, and suggestions from Kumar, R. (2012) using the Research Methodology textbook.

As stated earlier, I can be either well organized or disorganized, and this idea will help me stay on track. Once again, this suggestion seems simple, but it is easy to forget to take notes. I especially like the suggestion about summarizing the articles in my own words to ensure they are fully understood and to easily reference them. I will print out the articles and type a “notes” page, which will include tabs to easily find the articles. Altogether, doing this will help me keep myself …show more content…
For example, Kumar suggests that research is basically finding evidence about a particular subject. Additionally, he suggests that the research needs to be conducted from one of four different types of perspectives. In my case, the “professional” perspective will apply due to the fact that I am going to be gathering evidence about my topic from a non-stakeholder point of view. My mission is simply to find relevant, fact based, information without being biased to any pre-conceived ideas. Ultimately, my research will be aimed into finding “accurate, sound, and reliable information” (Kumar, 2012). Finally, the textbook taught me that I will need to look for evidence of reliability and validity within the
Over 30,000 people are diagnosed with oral cancer in the US per year. Oral cancer is a cancer that is more common in people over the age of 45, but can occur at any age. Oral cancer can develop in any part of the mouth. “... Oral cancer- it is cancer that occurs in any part of the mouth; on the tongue’s surface, in the lips, inside the cheek, in the gums, in the roof and floor of the mouth, in the tonsils, and also the salivary glands”.(Salomon and Esposito; Dental Partners) Oral cancer, although devastating and destructive can be detected, prevented, treated and cured if it is found early on in its stages. Cancer is detected by dentist because there is a genetic mutation in the cell usually causing tumors within the initial area of effect. Oral cancer can be prevented, diagnosed and treated.

I started school at a private institution then transferred to a public school where the teaching was different. Leaving Curtis Baptist in fourth grade to attend a public institute was a huge transition. This new environment provided a new sense of independent learning vs. the private school that focused on individuals needs with school. This change of location not only showed me how to learn differently, but taught me to meet new people and accept them into my life. Despite the stress this moved caused, I can say that I am glad that I was exposed to public school. I wish the transition had not been as difficult as it was because it was a stressful time in my life. Greenbrier has challenged me in positive ways that made me grow as a person

A form of guidance in necessary to illustrate the direction that an organization, community, or society desires to move toward, therefore the approach of leadership becomes very important. In order to strive, define and achieve goals leadership inspires a sense of purpose and passion to the effort that the association undertakes (Russell Consulting, Inc., 2011). If a solid foundation of leadership is not applied the objectives, goals, customer service, quality, and, productivity will be lost and result in inadequacy for the corporation. An effective organization relies on leadership to serve and to communicate goals, strategies, organize, and motivate others to arrive at a collaborative result (Understanding Society, 2008). Challenges being faced include cultivating strength in leadership, building team environments to accomplish goals, having clear mission, vision, and values, and reducing employee turnover while improving workforce morale (The Ken Blanchard Companies, 2011).

I have proactively engaged in research activity throughout my undergraduate program. I had my first research experience in Dr. B Anand’s lab, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati, during my second year. The aim of the project was to study the non-fluorescent beta-barrel structured proteins and engineer its amino acid sequence to make them into fluorescent ones. Our approach was mainly based upon the studies of Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) from a jellyfish Aequorea victoria. Tools like Python programming language, Gromacs, Ribosome, PROSS, and Pymol were used to study the structural components of non-fluorescent proteins. I gained invaluable knowledge about protein engineering and developed deeper fascination for life sciences. Later in the fall break, I interned at Globion India Pvt.Ltd–Hyderabad, India where I worked on ‘Growth-curve studies of chick embryo-propagated Infectious Bronchitis Virus’ under the mentorship of Dr. Sophia. My work included cultivating primary cell culture usi...
Research is systematic way to find out facts and knowledge as Kothari (2006) has analyzed that research is the pursuit of truth with the help of study, observation, comparison and experiment; the search for knowledge through objective and systematic method of finding solutions to a problem. However there are two types of researches one is by Purpose and other is by method. The type by purpose falls into three categorize such as Basic, Applied and Action Research.
