Leadership
Leadership is a role that a person will step up and take. Then again, not everyone can have leadership. In order to have leadership, you must act in certain ways to acquire the goal of leadership. Leadership is more than just leading people to achieve certain goals. It’s the way you approach the person you are trying to lead.
Moreover, many people these days don’t think that having leadership is important, or they think having leadership just means to lead people. Well, they are wrong. Leadership is much more than being a leader. You can’t just decide one day that you want to have leadership. You need to give yourself time to have leadership. Leadership does not come in the blink of an eye. It takes time to attain leadership. A person with leadership is someone that you can joke around with, someone always willing to help you, and someone who is positive.
Accordingly, people with leadership will set many goals for themselves to achieve. If you are lazy and want to gain leadership you must step up your game because no one likes people that are lazy. Say a person wants to have leadership in their student council. Well, the person is not a leader if no one wants to listen to the person. If the teacher asks you to do something in student council you must do as you were asked and don’t be lazy. Otherwise, the teacher won’t want you do be a leader that has leadership. To have leadership you must influence a group of people. Be the person that anyone can look up. A leader with leadership doesn't do stupid things that they later regret in life many times. Of course, the person will make mistakes, but if they keep on making the mistakes they are not considered to have leadership anymore.
If you have leadership you are...
... middle of paper ...
...t tempered, rude, and unhelpful is a teacher without leadership. The teacher without leadership needs to step up and be a better role model. A person with leadership is not just about a person that’s good at telling people what to do. A person with leadership is someone that most people really enjoy being around.
Consequently, anyone can be a leader. A kid can be leading in a school project without a problem. But just because you are a leader that does not mean that you have leadership. Leadership is a characteristic that a person can have and it can be achieved by trust, respecting others, and giving your best effort and in so many more ways. A leader can be rude, disrespectful, and competitive and that leader does not have leadership. Step up and take the role of leadership. It will make a difference in yourself and in the others around you.

Many definitions exist on what leadership is. Despite the many differences in definitions, they all describe the leader as someone who influences others. Leaders transform individuals around them allowing them to work to their full potential. In order for a leader to be successful they must be knowledgeable, self- confident, and effective communicators. These characteristics will create a positive workplace environment that results in an increase in productivity. Leadership is not defined by titles or salary. Leaders must acquire their skills and continue to improve on them through learning. Good leaders provide a vision and help motivate others to make that vision happen. The leader must be effective and successful in creating a strong institution.
First of all, I would like to define leadership by quoting Chester I. Barnard: “Leadership is the quality of behavior of individuals whereby they guide people or their activities in organising efforts”. In my opinion this statement is absolutely true and explains the term in its best way. Therefore, it would be logical to state that leader is the person who is at the center of the power structure of the group, the one who keeps everyone in the group together, forms the goals and motivates people to achieve those goals. Leadership is a very influential chain of actions. Only leader is to shape and regulate, control and change various things inside the group like attitude, behavioral norms, and performance. Mostly, leaders
Leadership is when strong leaders show a group of people a clear vision of the right path to go. A leader has important qualities that make them a strong independent person. A leader tends to be open minded when it comes to listening to others ideas to help solve hard times. Being a leader does not mean someone is bossing others around and controlling everything they do. It means they offer help to others and know how to to take charge when the time is needed. In Homer’s epic poem, The Odyssey, Odysseus is an effective leader because he knows how to be adaptive to challenges he faces in life and also caring for other in his crew.
Leadership is all about having the right amount of heart and determination to help make a difference in someone’s life. It takes certain qualities to be considered a good leader. A leader should want to help inspire others to make a change and to be the best that they can be. A true leader does not need to feel powerful, instead they empower those around them. Throughout my life I have come across various leaders who have made an impact on my life. It takes a very special person to inspire and touch people’s lives. Leadership is so much deeper than having power and bossing people around.
The term leadership often brings to mind people like George Washington, Ghandi, Dwight Eisenhower, or current day military or political figures. These people represent certain strengths, character, and moral behaviors that we attribute to the concept of leadership. At its core, leadership is the ability to influence others to work toward and achieve a common objective or goal. An individual can exhibit leadership at any level of society, not just high profile positions. In fact, leadership can even be witnessed among children and young adults.
Leadership is being able to direct or guide other people by either your own actions or by actually guiding them into the right direction (Acumen). Inspiration to be a leader might come from many different areas like your family, friends, peers, or even teachers. My inspiration didn’t really occur to me until I started attending college in August 2013. In all actuality I never even thought of how to be a leader until I was in Mrs. Moore’s Perspectives class. I now have a desire to be a great leader, and the inspiration has come from Mrs. Moore, and my family. I am the first to attend college out of my family, so in a away I have already started leading my siblings in the right direction. Being a leader means inspiring others to pursue their dreams, and aspirations and helping throughout the journey to success. Being a leader has nothing with authority or being able to tell other what, and how to do things, it’s about having people who look up to you and want to follow your example.
Leadership... What is leadership?... Leadership is the action of leading a group of people or an organization. But that isn’t all that comes with being a leader. To me a leader is someone caring’[, fair, and compassionate. John F. Kennedy, the 35th president of the united states and John Bergmann, the founder of the popcorn park zoo are two leaders that possess these traits.
Leadership has morphed into a redeeming quality that many people of our society strive to have. Although leadership is a sought-after quality, many do not possess the courage it takes to stand up and portray the positive examples of leadership. Instead, there is a warped image in our minds that leadership belongs to the loudest voice in the room. Leadership is so much more than this. To be a leader, means to set positive examples for others to follow. A leader is a shining beacon for others to find when they are struggling in the dark. A leader is not someone who simply takes charge of others. A leader is someone who commits to giving back to the community, focuses on schoolwork, and helps others. This is why I would be honored to be part of the National Honor Society, a society where all the qualities of a leader are prominent in its members.
Leadership is characterized as a person who is a trailblazer, who can take control, in my own thoughts. Being an experienced officer in multiple clubs I credit myself as a leader. I have had to take events into my own hands and make sure things run accordingly. I have had guided a group of middle schoolers through a student council workshop that was put on by student council officers. Being a leader and having leadership qualities if something I’m confident in.
Being a leader means you must have self-discipline and good leadership skills. If you cannot lead then you should not be in charge. Good leadership means being communicative with your team, and diplomatic, but at the same time courageous to say what you think at the appropriate time. Being a leader means you will not be inconsistent just to be the Mr. or Mrs. Popular in the group. You will gain more respect off the team members by sticking to your natural instincts, doing what you believe is right but not being so rigid that you cannot revise your opinions.
What is leadership? Leadership is defined as a process by which a individual will influence others to obtain goals. Leaders will guide, direct motivate, or inspire others. Leadership is defined by not only traits but actions as well. Leaders are inspirational, trustworthy and charismatic. Many people may think a manger is leader. Although leadership and management go hand in hand, they are not the same. Everyone has their own beliefs about what characteristics an effective leader should have. To me, communication skills, critical thinking skills, and having a vision are few characteristics of becoming an effective leader. A leader is not only born, but made. Some are born as leaders or some are made to be leaders.
In order for a leader to be a leader he/she must begin with the assumption that you are the one who matters most. As a leader you have to possess that level of confidence in yourself that you are capable of leading yourself “before you can lead others”. And when you develop this belief then you are better able of affirmative influence “on others”.
There are many different things I think of when I think of what leadership means to me. My idea of leadership is to be able to inspire others, get them excited to do something, motivate them and set an example to others. I also think that showing respect to others is a key part of leadership. You don’t just need leadership qualities, but you need to be a successful leader. To me being a successful leader is being able to have people follow you and not disrespect you. If you are a great leader your followers start to respect you more. To be a leader you also need to have certain qualities like being sociable, intelligent, have patience to deal with situations. A leader needs to be motivated or they will be a failure. I think I show leader ship all the time inside and outside of school. “A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way (John C. Maxwell).
Leadership is something that is heavily prevalent in the workforce and in the world today. Being a leader, in my opinion, takes someone (or a group of people) who is willing and able to lead a few or many people. Not every leader though is successful or leads in a positive way. There definitely exists both good and bad leadership. Many leaders fail while many achieve extraordinary milestones. But everyone, not just leaders, have their pitfalls and rough patches in life. I know that I myself have some weaknesses as a leader, and that is what I want to take some time to reflect on.
According to Shockley and Zalabak (2009) "Leadership is a process of guiding individuals, groups, and entire organization in establishing goals and sustaining action to support goals.Leadership is like mapping out where you need to go to win". A Leader is a person who has a strong personality and who has an ability to manage people and work. He is also the person who is able to direct people .Usually a leaders has a lot of attributes that
