Everyone and everything has something they cannot live without. There would never be day if there were never a night. I would not be the person I am today without the three most important things in my life: my dog, my car and my mother. As I was strolling through the park one day, I witnessed a police officer picking up a puppy. The pit-bull had no collar, no name and did not seem to have an owner. I knew the officer prior to this day so I was comfortable asking him if I could take the little pup home. Officer Green explained that I could not have the pup right away but if all things went in my favor, I could have him in less than two weeks. In those two weeks Onyx was trained, neutered, vaccinated and learned many cool tricks such as, how to sit, how to “speak” and when to remain calm, which at times is not his best skill! We arrived at the dealership in West, Texas and my parents told me to start looking around because they wanted to buy me a new car. They gave me a budget and I took off and started looking all around but after an hour I just could not find something that fit me. I was feeling very discouraged but then my parents told me we could go to Waco, Texas to another dealership. When we arrived it felt like love at first sight! A red, four doors, coupe, with a sunroof caught my eye immediately! I ran over there and the sales guy started telling me about the premium sound system, 1.4-turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a racing sports package. I automatically knew this was the car for me. Although this car had many details that I was absolutely in awe over, the most important thing was that I could appreciate this car so much because I knew that my parents worked and sacrificed so much just to purchase this for me. It is now 4 years later and my baby still drives like I just picked her up from the lot the first day and has never given me

Do you feel that you have all the things you really need to enjoy life? (Need moreyhave all I need).
I know how this experience feels. My first car was a blue 1994 Hyundai Elantra GLS. I loved that car. I would pamper it with the best gas, the best oil; and I would wash it once a week. I would go everywhere with my car.
Graham Hill, the author of “Living with Less. A Lot less” said “somehow this stuff ended up ruining my life, or a lot of it the things I consumed ended up consuming me”. Material things are not a necessary element of life because they are stressful, complicated, and wasteful. To begin with, in the article “Living with Less.

We live in a materialistic culture that thrives on having "things." Yes, we must have things in order to live (shelter, food, water, etc.), but the word is misused. Our culture has become so materialistic that we forget what is really important. The "have" mode has almost become the norm, especially with our generation. Even though we subconsciously practice the mode of “being,” many people do not realize it which makes it difficult to appreciate life and all the aspects of “being.” “Because the society we live in is devoted to acquiring property and making a profit, we rarely see any evidence of the being mode of existence and most people see the having mode as the most natural mode of existence, even the only acceptable way of life” (Fromm 25). Majority of people want to be as successful and rich as possible that this idea takes over their mind and eventually lives. Every young person is obsessed with “fitting in” and having the latest and greatest items. This attitude causes adolescents to lose sight of what is important and lose touch with their emotions. Our culture needs to begin to think less about material items and being rich and more about his/her emotions and what it means to be truly happy. It is important to focus on the “bigger picture” and how one must become the best person he/she can be to benefit
The day you get your first car is like christmas morning for a kid. You are so ecstatic that you almost can not control yourself. But when you do get a car, you know, freedom is at your fingertips. This memory start in the middle of May. I have had my permit for a few months then, so I could drive. My dad said he wanted to help me get a car if I paid for gas and insurance. That is when I started searching Craigslist. I knew I wanted something with four wheel drive, and something that got decent gas mileage. I really liked old Ford Broncos at the time, but they got horrible gas milage, so that was off the table. My next choice was a 1985 toyota 4runner. They had great gas mileage, and good four wheel drive. I happened to be at my aunt and uncle’s house when my uncle said

I invested in a rescue Rottweiler. Harley was the sweetest, loving dog that I have ever owned. He was really scary looking, but never growled at anyone other than my x husband. Rottweilers are dogs that mirror their owner’s emotions. The only time I felt that scared was when my X was around. It was amazing. Suddenly I slept through the night. Harley chased my X back to his car on one occasion. That was the last time that he came to my house. I only got my Harley for a little over a year. He was an old dog that lived kind of a rough life. He passed away from bone cancer. I now have a five year old Rottie named Soder (the name means Keeper from

They taught me that God is powerful and almighty and does amazing and sometimes shattering things that no one can explain. I put my faith in God that I will succeed. The main goal in life is to live by our beliefs and our values. These beliefs and values define who we are as a person and create how we behave towards others (Wright, 1). These beliefs and values can be defined as our personal core values. My personal core values include family, trust, honesty, friendship, and creativity, which define who I am, change from past to present, and could change again.
