Do you know what does it take to be a pre k teacher? It take more than just a love to work with children, it take time also dedication to help students to socially and emotionally and physically develop. However, the reward for watching a child to grow can be special. Early children hood education is important and it is the foundation for the overall growth and development of a children.
There was a man name Friedrich Froebel who taught adults how to be a kindergarten teachers. One of his students was Mrs. Carl Schurz, she moved to the United States so she can start the first kindergarten also preschools for the students under age five. Preschools were not started on the United States until around the 1920s. Preschools pretty much stay the same for 40 years with the largest growth happening in the 1960s. Many preschool teachers work in formal childcare centers that have preschool classrooms. Others work in public and private schools. Still others work for charitable or religious organizations that have preschool programs or Head Start programs. Head Start programs receive federal funding for disadvantaged children between the ages of 3 and 5.Seeing children develop new skills and gain an appreciation of knowledge and learning can be very rewarding. In some states, licensure may be required. Many states accept the child development associate credential or an associate or bachelor degree. Kindergarten teachers working in public elementary schools almost always need teaching certification similar to that required by other elementary schoolteachers in the school. Preschool teachers can work their way up from assistant teacher to teacher to lead teacher (who may be responsible for the instruction of several classes) to director of the preschool.
