My husband and I both have full-time jobs. My husband works in the Industrial Technology field and I work in the Medical field. We both have been at our jobs for a long time and although we work in different fields, we both in customer service. We both enjoy working in our fields, we both work from 7am to 4 pm and we each have two weeks of vacation a year. Our jobs have similarities and they are also different and this always strikes a conversation every time we get a chance to talk. My work is different because I physically work with patients while my husband deals with computers, I work in the hospital and he works with manufacturing company. I graduated from college and began my career as a physical therapist tech; meanwhile working at Houston Methodist as patient care assistant I transfer as a physical therapist tech. The physical duties that can cause techs health problems in the future, such as back pain, and or infections disease that may or may not be curable. I became my mother’s caregiver while she was battling cancer. She lived for quite a while, but lost the battle. As her caregiver, I had the opportunity to see what cancer patient go through on a day to day basis and how hard they have to fight to maintain their daily lives. In the medical field, it is more than to just say I want to be able to take care of patients, you have to have a love for this particular field. You are challenged at each and every avenue, and myself, I love challenges. The fact that you are able to see a patient overcome their illness and to walk out of the hospital better than what they came in gives you joy to see that you were able to make a difference in that person’s life, just to see them smile again and have hope of a full
