Statement of Purpose
"The best way to predict future is to create it"- Peter Drucker. I strongly believe in this statement that taking action now can help you shape the life you want to live. I’m a firm believer that you can determine your own destiny if you make your own future. After scrutinizing my interests, past trainings and final ambition, I have realized that a masters degree in Business & Information System will help me to achieve my future career goal in Information Systems. My proclivity is more specifically towards Business Analytics and data science. I see an MS program in the USA as a crucial step towards achieving my career objective because not only it is the birthplace of my chosen field of study but also it has nurtured it for its full growth and continuous development.
For my under graduate studies, I opted for “Information Technology” in SIES College of Arts, Science and Commerce. During the course of the study I understood the fundamentals of IT through the Programming language and database courses. After my undergraduate education, the strong desire to understand the global business management process and the requirements of the industry propelled me to pursue a Post Graduate Diploma in Management specializing in “International Business” from Pillai’s Institute of Management and Research. I was endowed with subjects like Supply chain Management and Customer Relationship management, Shipping and Logistics Management, International trade operations and MIS for Global Organisations. Now I have determined that a dedicated higher study on Computer Science will enable me to aggregate all my previous knowledge & experience on the field and encourage in achieving my career goal. The reasons I want to earn an MS in Management/Business Analytics degree are that an MS in Management/Business Analytics degree will help me to tap into the growth I have seen within my current organization (Wells Fargo) for “big data” skilled employees, understand the emphasis that many of the commercial companies I cover place on business analytics for decision making, and capitalize on the expected need within my current role as a Commercial Banking Credit Analyst to find new ways to view our business.
My ambitiousness and networking opened the doors for me to work at Dell computers after graduating from high school. This was a match made in heaven because my love for technology and business would be brought together. I was able to thrive in this environment due to effectiveness communicating and ability to build rapport with customers and co-workers. I quickly exceled into a leadership role and started different incentives with in my organization. Working for a Global end to end IT Solution Company has allowed me the ability to work on different projects and different people all over the world. Because of my problem solving analytics I have overseen multimillion dollar contracts with the Federal Government agencies. Working with several DoD and Civilian agencies has allowed to experience real life business IT issues. It’s amazing that I have a helping hand in protecting our country and helping our country run more effectively. Creating solutions that work effectively takes lots of time and effort also lots of learning. Learning has inspired me to continue my education, it would make me more successful at my current job and show my daughters that education is important. I believe the University Of Texas at Austin is the right path to challenge myself further. Taking real life IT experience into the class room will also enable me to be a better classmate.
Furthering my education by earning a Masters of Business Administration degree, will satisfy one of my personal and professional goals. The focal point will be in Information Technology. This degree will allow me to enhance my technology, leadership, money management, employee relations, and marketing skills. I will gain vital planning, organization and communication skills. The degree will also allow me to obtain additional knowledge about hardware and software technologies that will be used to enhance current processes and procedures. A MBA from your school in interdisciplinary studies will enhance my understanding of all aspects of business. This will contribute significantly to becoming effective in the consulting profession. I am extremely enthusiastic about the future of International Business. I believe that there are major breakthroughs yet to be made in the field. After completing a MBA in your school, I hope to gain practical experience and exposure with a major international business firms. Eventually, I wish to establish my own consulting company providing various financial and managerial services.

I was very fond of business administration and I gained a lot of management skills and knowledge on how to manage and develop business as well my personal life. I am very focused on business management specifically on an international aspect because I am interested to know in depth how business works locally and internationally. I learnt many aspects on client-manager interaction and this fascinated me on how businesses are managed and developed from one level to the other. It has been my wish to be a triumphant professional manager and I am looking forward to becoming a senior manager in an international pharmaceutical or medical device firm.

My interest in Information Systems Management was drawn when I was working on my final year project at Maharashtra Institute of Technology under the able guidance of the head of the Computer Engineering department. Professor R. K. Bedi’s support provided a much needed boost to my confidence in my programming skills. This new found confidence, in conjunction with the organization management skills I had acquired through active participation in extracurricular activities like “Tesla”, in inter college programming fest, made me realize I wanted to pursue a program that had comprised a blend of both the computer science and management disciplines.
I found this topic so interesting and motivating and I believe that I got some new knowledge and skills after attended this assignment topic. My experience has been successfully expanded as a result of attending classes, to include global approach to the international business. I found out that practice for international business has become little bit complicated due to influence of globalization.
Professional: My goals are to acquire a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), certification for (CAPM) Certified Associate in Project Management and Business Analyst, and my certification for Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM). Upon receiving my Masters and certifications, I plan to obtain a management position as a Business Analyst with a progressive international organization to utilize my acquired skills and knowledge to be successful in the IT industry.
