First day of class The first day of class was absolutely not that bad as I thought it would be. The time that I picked was great its not to last but its not too early. It s just the right time to get to class. The classroom was as scorching like the desert. It is very hot in the class. It makes write in the class hard to do but that is something I guess I just have to deal with. Just like Columbia is around this time of year. The class also seems to have some interesting people in the class. There was a lot of dance and film majors there so I consider were bound to here some intense story’s. I was really impressed on how well organized Alexia Hall was with the class she seem to know where she wanted to the class to be at the end of the semester. We were past out with the class policies and a syllabus of what we were going to do the whole semester. I thought this was very convenient so that there was no mixed signals in the group. Alexia Hall the teacher personally seems to be a person who does not like to play games with her students. She seems like a straight froward person. I have a feeling she has heard a lot of excuse of why students do not have their papers. She warn us not to start killing off are family when paper are due. Which I thought it was funny, because even as a student I have heard some crazy stories about people who just kill of there whole family when a paper due or a test day. I feel that the class is tremendously large, but that always changes at mid term I feel that over 40 % will drop the class they always do. I am just hope that I am not one of those people to drop out of class. The class seems to go really fast. I like the way we can say and write the way we feel about the subject matter. Having the Internet access is also a plus just for the fact that we can look up information on topics and write about it. Class participation was great everyone joined in on the discussion. People in the class felt comfortable talking out loud and putting there two sense in.
...out homework, which was a huge stress relief. The class also offered how to write the base foundation of any paper, which is significant to become a great writer as well as to write a flawless paper. Also, the group activities allowed us to get closer with our classmates. However, I feel like some of the activities we did were mediocre and ordinary. But it is hard to tell what experience each student received from their high school. Some knew more than others, and I was just more grateful with the education I obtained from high school. I was also not fond of buying the books for the class, when it was not a necessity for class. We did not put much use into the books, and they were relatively expensive. I do recommend the class, especially to incoming freshman. It is a great foundation for legitimate college writing classes. I enjoyed learning from you Mrs. Penwell.

In conclusion, my first impression was wrong, the classroom was not some kind of battlefield of teacher and student casualties. The students were not a lost cause that I imagine them to be. The students were well mannered and just wanted to be treated with respect. The classroom management was impeccable and astounding. It goes to show that although you may think you know a group of students you can be very mistaken.

Alcoholism is one of our nation’s largest social issues to date, and carries with it many negative aspects, the most dire being death at the hands of this disease. Alcohol and alcoholism have been part of societies for centuries. This habit was brought over to the new world when the first settlers landed on the shores of what was to become America. Furthermore, in bringing alcohol to this new land an entire nation of Native American Indians were introduced to a product that has affected them more negatively than any other to date, and continues to suffer from today and probably well into the future.
According to The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian, Indians over use alcohol and have many issues that occur on the reservation because of this. For Example, When Junior's grandmother died from a drunk driver who had struck her. Junior was in a grieving period and had a lot to say about the deaths within the reservation because of alcohol. “I know only, like, five Indians in our whole tribe who have never drunk alcohol.”(156). This shows us that almost all Indians on the reservation drink alcohol. Within the whole reservation there are many issues that occur according to the novel. Graphics card – This is a computer hardware that makes up what you see on your monitor. It is essential that you have this hardware for the computer as it converts the data from your CPU, to a signal that makes the monitor understand what you want to see. If you were to have a really good graphics card, then the monitor will appear smoother and sharper. The images is created when the CPU receives the data from the software and then it works together with the graphics card to translate that data to what the monitor can understand. The calculations that the card has to go through, is first to make a wire frame out of the straight lines. Once it has done this it will move on to fill in the remaining pixels also known as rasterising. It would also as the colour, lighting and texture to the image.
To conclude I’d like to say that something I’ll remember from this class years from now would be the great class experience. Everyone was very accepting and non-judgmental during the course of our class. Even when having to present in front of the class (one of my least favorite things to do) I didn’t feel that nervous, which is rare. I’ll forever be changed by the knowledge I’ve gain from this class because before I would have never imagined so many therapeutic accomplishments could become of group work. I plan to use this course quite a bit in my future career and hopefully help many people by the means of group work.
In summary, I had an enjoyable time in my first college English class. I pushed myself as diligently as I could and learned much more than I thought I would. In addition to, my strengths grew stronger and my weaknesses improved as well. I acknowledge I still have some techniques and skills to work on; however, I am willing to put the time in and cannot wait to take English in the future. Based on my observations, my first impression of my English class is that it will be exciting. On the first day of school, I was intrigued by Ms. Shaw-Morgan’s sense of humor since none of my elementary school teachers joked around as much as her. Ms. Shaw Morgan is very funny and her classroom is organized and well-decorated. It is my first year at Canyon Hills and having an exciting class will make the experience more enjoyable. I hope this class lives up to my expectations.
Over the course of this class I have pieced together many things about my own life that before went unnoticed. I am now able to see things in a bit of a different light. Now that I have been introduced to the realm of psychology I understand some of the reasons for behavior around me. I have learned that there is a reason for most everything and a lot of our behaviors and mental processes can be explained through psychology. Studies have been conducted for many years to try and pinpoint the source of our behavior and it is not something that most people think about every day. Having a better understanding of why we operate the way we do will help me to better understand myself and the others around me.
On the first day of college; my teachers said to me; Study hard and you 'll get a degree. The Course 's Enduring Understanding (EU) is ideas, habits, and general comprehension of what students should know or will soon find out. Over the course of my first semester I learned ideas such as studying, sceduding, and trying to fit all that into one week and 5 classes. I also learned habits such as reading, thinking, listening, presenting. We used all of those skills in the course of the whole semester and it kind of got me read for what the other courses where going to bring.
My first day at college had a great meaning to me. It was the beginning of my dream to go to college and to pursue a higher education.I had so many emotions running trough me , it was the first time being in this level and the first time paying for education myself. I always wanted to be a college student, a serious student who would decide what to be in her life. The first day at Truman College was on August 25th, 2005. The first year of my freshman year and Fall semester. That day I had so many things on my mind, from what I was going to wear to figure out where the class number and the floor it would be located at. It was actually a day full of new experiences. I had just turned 28 years old. By the time I had a full-time job in downtown, which I had to go after school. I had to find the time to study and to do homework, specially after class meetings, I was exited and scared at the same time. I noticed that the class was not the same versus the ESL and GED classes that I took at Truman. Although, it was the one I wanted to take, I was nervous because I didn’t know what to expect. However, I was impressed to see a wide diversity of student from other countries and I thought that the class would be very interesting by meeting new people. The purpose of this essay is to tell the main experiences about being in college for the first time.
My University is an educational institution which is widely recognized all over the world. It originated from Philippines and collaborates with PSBA (Philippine School of Business Administration). It has 2 branches in Jakarta which is located in Hayam Wuruk and the other one in Kelapa Gading. My University has been my first choice because I believe that it as the ability to provide me with quality education.
