Recommended: Importance of a high school education

High school has been a very irreplaceable experience for me. It has been a very hilly road with many ups and downs. I look back to freshman year and it is hard to believe that in only a couple months I will have reached my first destination out of many more. I feel like my high school experience has very well prepared me for college and facing the real outside world as a whole. Overall, I feel like I have been equipped for not only college, but also life as a whole. I have learned how to how with others and express what I think appropriately. I have developed great skills and have found the real me. My experiences are the ones how have molded me into the confident person I am now. One being that neither of my parents had the opportunity to get past the sixth grade due to poverty reasons. I do not think it is right for me to have the opportunity to get an education and not take advantage of it because that would be like an insult to them. I have seen how much my parents have struggled to help me get to where I am now, so I like to make my accomplishments their accomplishments by giving them my medals and awards. I look at myself as a very fortunate person because even though they do not have a very good education they are still very supporting, not everyone is able to say this. The setting I was used to being in change completely because I knew nobody and did have much confidence in myself. The intensity of school work got harder and not having anyone at home to help me made things feel impossible. In some part I am glad things worked out this way because it forced me to improve my independent and study skills. The rest of the years after freshman year were much better. I knew almost everyone in the school which made me not feel lonely and I started to have more free time.
